Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. Corinthians|
Please keep in mind those of us who contribute to Find A Grave do so VOLUNTARILY. This is a hobby and done solely for the purpose of freely assisting people interested in doing research of their family history and/or genealogy.
ABOUT SSDI SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX The place listed is where the person last received SS benefits at. It is not necessarily the place of death. They could have moved or died in a hospital, nursing home, hospice, or relatives home in a different city/county. So please be careful with that.
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience. Memorial contributions to Find A Grave must fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
It is NOT a family tree site. It is not a memorial site. Once a page has final disposition it is complete by Find A Grave standards.
If I ask for verification for an edit you sent then I need an OFFICIAL LEGAL source. ( ie:death certificate, etc ) Just saying you saw it on family.org or ancestry is not good enough, unless they show a legal document. There is all kinds of bogus info out there on genealogy sites because it doesn't get verified. If you get insulted or offended by my request then you need to look within yourself on why you can't handle dealing with things on a mature level.
There is no written rule about edits BUT there is something to be said about unspoken rules and manners, and being respectful of others. Flooding a person with endless edits just because YOU are working on a certain cemetery is just downright rude and selfish. People have jobs, family obligations, illness, etc to deal with. Everything in moderation and respect is the way to go. If you are lucky enough to have lots of time then good for you, some of us aren't as lucky.
An Email From ADMIN concerning edits
