Granville, North Dakota ~ My wife has come to understand my obsession for recording headstones, uncover Markers and link lost family members. We have dug four to six inches in the ground for some and survived the bushes for others. We have learned together what tools we need to carry besides a camera. We feel it is a way of showing respect for those just found for their family and friends that are to far away to do this themselves. Lisa and I enjoy the time together as well.
My obsession started when I returned from Beirut in 1983 (Operation Peacekeeper – U.S.M.C.). Seeing the bodies of those left in the streets is what gave me the passion to do what I can for the families of loved ones here at home. Thus started the beginning of the Wittstruck Memorial Foundation. Some of the stories are indeed sad, but most are uplifting if not funny. All are satisfying to say the least.

Thank you for adding the info but you have him showing up twice in the Norwich Cemetery. He was
the "Sr." William had a son who died in the Normandy Invasion during WWII who was "Jr." Thank you for the changes to correct this.

Do you recall what cemetery he was buried in? You added a grave photo to his memorial. I would like to update it. Thank you.

Yesterday I was at a friends house for Memorial Day...friends met via my boyfriend.I just moved back to TX last Friday...anyways while at friends house boyfriend began asking friend/host about hosts Marine experience and he brought up Beruit...and turns out friend/host was with you/David Reagan.Friend was concerned David had been forgotten...I said no way and went to findagrave to see if I could find David.Found him...showed friend but missed checking out who created memorial when still at friends house. He was pretty upset and I'm sure seeing Davids face brought back lots of memories and not all good. He lives in N CA...married and seemingly happy...so if you'd like to get in touch with him...please let me know. I have the utmost respect for you Marine folks...I'm an Air Force vet...and marines have nothing on the air force.Hope to hear from you! Havr a great summer!
