Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family history research for over 10 years and I've found that cemeteries are a tangible way to help educate the young people about their ancestors. Once, when touring several cousins and their children around a cemetery in Colorado where 6-7 generations of my family are, a young 11-year-old boy came up to me with wide eyes and said "I never though about being part of generations and generations." Bingo! That's why I'm doing this!

Please let me know if you have corrections or additions to my records. And especially I'd like to hear from you if you're related to one of these people -- since I'm related to many of them myself! Jan Botkin Therkildsen (Arvada, CO)

RE: Photo- George Walter Thompson stone
You are very welcome. Did notice that the year of George's birth is different on the stone, but the year of death is the same. Because Minerva is on the stone also assume that is the correct one.

Martha Thompson
Thanks so much for the wealth of info on this family. I will have to check Martha's death year. I was working strictly from the typed cemetery record done in the 80's as I could not find a stone for her. Perhaps she did not die in 1849. If she was on the census record for 1850, it suggests she was still alive. I will pull out my notes today and check.

Mary Meyer Slater #81177768
Hi Jan.
We're not related to that family (Meyer or Slater). Alan and I photographed the whole Hickman Cemetery.

If you find good documentation on Mary, then we can link to her parents. Not a problem.

I'm delighted to transfer Miss Catherine's Memorial to you as Family! I would have made the additions and corrections, but thought you would enjoy that as opposed to having a stranger make the changes.
