PLEASE DO NOT COPY MY PHOTOGRAPHS AND POST THEM TO ANY OTHER SITES. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF MY COPYRIGHT!|
PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY PHOTO'S AND POST THEM ON ANOTHER SITE OR BOOKS THEY BELONG TO ME AND MY FAMILY AND IF I HAD WANTED THEM POSTED ON ANCESTRY COM OR ANY OTHER SITE I WOULD HAVE POSTED THEM MYSELF. THIS IS STEALING AND AGAINST THE LAW.
Born 1959. Married, 6 children. Love history, cemetery art and gardening. I have been doing genealogy for 30+ years.
I am a historian. I document an event for future generations. I am not a "hawk" or a "vulture". I do not get paid for this, I do not gain anything from this. I do not wish to disrupt your grieving process. I do not do this to disrespect anyone.
I believe that after 3 or 4 generations, everyone is basically forgotten. Our graves sit there deteriorating without a care. I especially feel for childless couples or infants and children, they are forgotten sooner. I love this website, because generation after generation, our future family will be able to come here, and see our graves, and with a little love and care can see our faces also. Tracing our lineage will be so much easier for future generations.
I will post obits on memorials with proper citation. I know some people feel that this info is "private" or "personal" but.... it was PUBLISHED IN THE PAPER FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.
99% of the time this info is invaluable to genealogists. I have had cemeteries tell me they are private property and those interred there want privacy. If someone truly wants privacy, get cremated and scattered over the ocean, don't put up a huge headstone with your name, dates...... Like having a huge billboard up on a highway and you are asked not to look at it or read it........SILLY.
**Please, no drama. I report, ignore and block, rude or offensive communications.**
I also feel creating memorials for living people is disrespectful. Anyone can find names and dates to enter, but to truly do the job correctly, the names, obits, dates and links should be complete. If you add an obit, it should be as it was printed.
My paternal grandparents were Wavie (nee Rench) & Jesse Botkin. She was the first schoolteacher in Atlanta. Jesse ran the store in town. I have a 2006 copy of the cemetery records. I will try to get the transcribed into Find A Grave.
I do my best to post accurately and respectfully.
I LOVE FINDAGRAVE. I love making corrections. I want my memorials to be as complete as possible. Bring on the additional information. I am on here every day.
I am researching my genealogy, surnames: Botkin, Tonelli, Rench, Redenbo, Kuhn, Chrisman, Reeves, Crutchley, Boggs, Borror, Leach, Studebaker, Mumper, Jones, Houghtling, Terenzoni, Bartoli, Luchini, Ceci, Kieken, Gbur, Davia, Eggert, Horn, Inman, Redenbo, Winter, Spadaro, Davis, Hester, Curl, Shepperd, Maury, Sasser, Humfleet, Sprinkel, Allen, Clark, Brown, Gilbert, Read/Reed, Weber, Hauser, Davies, Dyerhin, Hainlein, Bomher, Fitzpatrick, Halper, O'Connor, Keevil, Cunningham, just to name a few.

Interesting, Rita, the spelling difference confirms what I thought - thanks. Do you have (or have a connection to someone who has) a Bodkin family tree or other similar info?
As you no doubt know, creating one from scratch is difficult!
I don't want to subscribe to Ancestry.com, even though there seems to be some info on there.
I am hitting a ceiling with Samuel Bodkin and his wife Bridgette (Cottingham) Bodkin. I am fairly sure his father is Charles (1794-1856) but can't find any definite connection.
Thanks very much!

My name is Kevin Corcoran, and my 4xGrandfather was Charles Bodkin, he is buried in the Botkins Cemetery in Mercer County, Ohio. Do you know the connection between the Bodkins and Botkins?
I am digging into my ancestral roots and Charles Bodkin (father of Benaia Botkin, for whom you left a candle memorial in 2010,) is the furthest back I have found.
Thanks for your time - Kevin

Thank you for updating his memorial and making the family link. Best regards, Jan

Mt Zion Cemetery is correct but it is located in Walcott, Greene County, Arkansas
I saw that you added my grandfather (John Bruno) in Queen of Heaven. Thank you so very much! It gives me a way to stay connected to him and ensure that he isn't forgotten.

Thank you so very much!!!🍀

Hi Rita, I am sorry I messed up my attempt to request added siblings for Walter Chrisman and ended up requesting to delete his parents instead! It was my first try since joining yesterday. Please forgive me! I tried it a different way by suggesting adding children to his parents. Feel free to tell me how to do things better -- I am only just starting.

Hi Rita-I posted the picture you requested for Robert Hoffenkamp. He is buried next to his wife, Anna L Hoffenkamp (Mar 13, 1919-Sep 1, 1971). If you add a page for her let me know. I did take a picture of her headstone too...Mary
Posted obituary. Thanks.

Hi Rita...the other Cannella pictures have been added. I'm assuming that Beatrice Cannella Warner was Samuel's wife and she remarried after he died but I couldn't find an obit after a quick look. If you ever add a page for her let me know. I'll keep her picture on file.
