Please let me know if you would like me to transfer any of my memorials to your family that are not in my family. My grandson Owen and I really enjoy this time together. He especially likes the veteran areas and is really into Gettysburg and Lincoln. We found a relative that had brunch with Lincoln on the day of his address and then she sat on the platform steps to hear his speech. |
We have taken many extra photos when looking for family so that someone else can use them. Please do not hesitate to ask for a transfer.
There are many headstones that are completely erased by time or very hard to read. I will list those as Unknown in the hope that maybe someone will recognize them. I will leave flowers so that they know they were not forgotten.
And for all the Findagrave members, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I was fortunate enough to have an encounter with my Dad who passed in 1995. While visiting our cemetery, I always stop and check the flowers I had put on the grave. Last time I was there, I was sitting in my car (hot outside) and a brief fragrance came past me. I recognized it immediately. It was the same way my Dad smelled after showering and shaving in the morning getting ready for the office. I have not smelled that pleasant fragrance since 1995.
The latest surprise I had was at Hampton Union cemetery in Hampton, PA. When I got home and loaded my photos on the computer, I had a picture I did not take. It was a complete figure of a person that was translucent. But the odd part was that I was alone that day. It could have been me but my arms are not long enough to take a full body picture and there was no background--no other stones, trees, grass or houses--just white.

|Karl Stelly||RE: Walter Smyser|
You are welcome for the photo, Sheila.
I have two John Wagner's, one 1800-1861 buried at Strickler Miller and the other one 1838 - 1924 at
St. John's in Abbottstown.
I know I sent one 'only if you have time' but it was in regards to Fries/Fisher at Kreutz. If you have a copy of that email, resend it so I can see
what I wrote to you.

You lost me, where is Hometown Cemetery?? And
what is the full name of the Wagner you were referring to in the message?

Thanks so much for getting the picture of Edward & Annie's headstone, it is a striking stone, very
attractive, I like it!

|Jim Allingham||Hamme Family Transfers|
Thank you again for the offer of transfers. I have done quite a bit of research on various Hamme Family members and descendants and I can add some interesting bio information to a number of the memorials you have created.
On any transfer request, would you prefer that I make the request through the edit tab on each memorial, or would you prefer that I send you a list, perhaps on your regular email, since it may involve more than just a few?
You have done a tremendous job keeping up with the numerous link and edit requests I've hit you with and you have my sincere gratitude.
|Kate Murphy||RE: Ida Smeltzer|
Sorry, that was a mistake on my part. I'm working to try to link all the family members for Artie & Ida. They are my husband's great grandparents. Thanks!
|Jim Allingham||Hamme Family links|
Many thanks once again for the many Hamme Family links that I've sent you recently. Your initial work in finding these graves has enabled us to tie together extended family members, especially those of several generations past. Great work! Thank you!
