Bio Photo Findagrave has a wonderful feature that allows memorial holders to update many requests at a time, but only if done via the Edit tab --- so please try that before leaving information on the profile page! This feature is a true blessing.

Thank you for visiting!

My mother, Mary Edith "Meg" Stevens and I, were/are long-time supporters of Findagrave -- a wonderful site to place memorials and do research. She sadly passed away in May of 2013, but her love of genealogy and helping others find their family, lives on.

One of my interest areas is the American Revolution. Please feel free to visit my page on Facebook and assist in the research.

I also welcome you to follow my weekly blog at GenealogyBank or to follow me on Twitter.

Thank you. I wish you success in your family research.

If you wish to download one of my tombstone pictures, you may do so for personal usage and should give proper credit. Under no circumstances should they be added to other sites (such as Ancestry) as if they are your own.

Photographs of individuals require permission, and if lifted from here without appropriate permission or credit are subject to licensing fees.

Obits under copyright should be summarized, or cannot be posted (many less than 72 years, or longer if a newspaper renewed the copyright.)

Please follow Findagrave guidelines to be within a few generations and a direct descendant. For older ones, please communicate the reason.

As the number of memorials I manage increases, I sometimes elect to transfer without being asked. If you received a transfer and do not wish to manage it, please transfer back.

Graff Family at Mount Vernon Cemetery
I am trying to trace our family back and have found that some of the family lay at rest at Mopunt Vernon Cemetery in Phila. I went to visit today to find out that the cemetery is closed. I was wondering if there is any one to contact to try to get in to take photos of the family head stones and do some reasearch. I am lookong for the Peter Fenner Graff famil;y....I do have names to add to this family's information and was wondering if there are any photos of the head stones. I can provide the names I am looking for and some corrections to add to what I have found there so far. Thank You for your time to such a wonderful project.

Barbara E. Steward Harrell
Hi Mary,

Still trying to link some Shelby County families and am working on the Stewards.

Your memorial for Barbara E. Harrell (5604744) matches the dates for Barbara Steward. Family records say she married Byrum Harrell 25 May 1870. I noticed that you had a question about who Barbara might be and think this is the correct answer!

Barbara was the 4th child of James and Elizabeth James Steward, born 15 June 1850 and died 15 December 1876.

Thanks for your updates!
Hi Mary,

Thanks so much for updating the Shelby County memorials. I'm trying to link some family members on Find A Grave and really appreciate your help.

Are you still researching in Shelby County? I was just there (in the rain!) and enjoyed the new Genealogy Library. It's really nice.

Thanks again!

RE: Owen Chase
Thank you for this reply, Mary, My question, however, was not about linking anyone. Rather, it's about data. I wanted to know if you know anything about Adaline Chase Worth, whom a very reliable source says was a daughter of Own Chase. Your biographical sketch, including the children of four wives, doesn't list her. I was wondering why. Or, if I may ask the question in another way, what is the source of your biographical data?

Many thanks--

Owen Chase
Hi Mary. I have a little puzzle that I wonder if you might help me with. In Prospect Hill Cem. is buried Capt Francis Worth, captain of a whale ship and a man who knew Herman Melville. His wife was Adeline Clare Chase. Now Hershel Parker, the pre-eminent biographer of Melville, says that her father was Owen Chase. Yet I do not see her listed as a child in your detailed citation, which I suppose is drawn from census and other records. Parker is a very careful scholar, and I would hesitate to doubt him. Do you have any explanation of this?

Adeline 's Find A Grave # is 112263765. The site owner has added some biographical details, but they're clearly confused as s/he has Francis S. Worth listed as the father though linked as the husband.

Thanks for any help--

Do you know if Loretta Abney Lee is buried next to her husband, Dewey Lee #9372173, in Ramsey Cemetery?

Thanks for the transfer. I was surprised to find he was transferred to Westminster! I will research a bit more to learn about him in census and maybe Wurttemberg emigration index. Sandy
