Bio and Links
Bio Photo Living in Southwest Virginia after retiring as a Critical Care nurse. Always loved genealogy and now incorporating it with history and involved with Find A Grave.

I follow Find A Grave guideline and if you want me to transfer a memorial to you, it should be a DIRECT relative within four generations. ( FAG says: This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.) Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management.

Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. FAG's goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.

Please contact me if you would like something added that you can't add. I believe flowers should be for someone you know not to decorate a page.

Feel free to use any of my photos without giving me any credit. I am dedicated to preserving our passed loved ones and linking families.

Beatrice Lawner McCrary Barton
Hi. I am contacting you about the memorial to my Great Grandmother, Beatrice Barton. There is a major error and a minor error.
You have her as memorial #110148695. You have her buried in Sardis Cemetery in Walker Co, Alabama. That is not where she is buried. The correct info is on memorial #111108590. She is buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Walker Co under the name Mrs Sidney Barton (who knows why the headstone says that). My mother, who is 84 years old, was at the funeral and told me that "Grandmother didn't want to be buried in that dark, drab Sardis Cemetery".
I took the photo of her headstone at Mount Carmel. That's where she is.
Also, the date of death is wrong. She died on Nov 1st, 1963, not Nov 2nd.
Thank you for your attention on this matter, and thank you for your dedication in preserving the memory of our loved ones.

Riverside / Horton / John Ely Cemetery AKAs?
HI .. I was going to email you but dont see an email addy to contact you by ..
There seems to be cemeteries that need merged or some further detailing done to that might help others from getting confused.

You listed the Riverside Cemetery
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GScid=2396506&GRid=97135747&CRid=2396506&

In its bio it states:
There are actually two cemeteries (the Joseph Ely Cemetery and the Horton Cemetery) which were joined into the Riverside Cemetery.

Is this saying that Horton and Joseph Ely Cemetery are touching or on outter edges of Riverside or is it all under new name now as Riverside??

The Horton Cemetery is listed
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GRid=12245317&CRid=2157223&

You have now listed memorials with headstones, so do we need to merge these locations to become one with a note on other two they are AKA names now?

Please let me know so I can advise Find A Grave correctly and move my memorials to Riverside if they should be there or you remove from Riverside the ones listed in Horton and they stay listed in Horton.
Thanks so much
Vickie

Hope I said that alright to make it easy to understand. ;->

Mary Amanda Aldridge Williams spouse
Hi,
I am the great grand daughter of Mary Amanda Aldridge Williams. I have just started researching this side of my family and cannot find the record of the death of her spouse, Samuel Patton Williams who was born in 1856 and died after 1930. I would appreciate any help you can offer.
Thank you!

Thank you.
There are angels that walk among us. I never got interested in genealogy until I was older. Too much going on when I was younger. Getting to and photographing the graveyards is such a wonderful thing to do. Thank you.

Sadler/Davis/Livesay
I have several photos in my grandfather, Arthur Livesay's, collection, that I am trying to determine what happened to our kin. One of them is Jess Willard Davis born abt 1917 in Virginia to James Arthur Davis and Mary Jane "Mollie" Livesay. It is a photo of him and his wife, Ruby Edith Williams (abt 1919 - 1981) - I would like to know what happened to Jess Willard Davis or be put in touch with someone in the family that knows. Thanks Tam

RE: George W. Johnson
Thanks for such a quick response.

Yes, I have several George W. Johnsons also. My great grandfather was one, as well as my 3rd great grandfather. The one I was referring to was the son of Lewis Johnson and Mary J. Slone. I want to be sure that he was identical with the one who died 1945 in Knoxville. You can write me direct to the email on my profile if desired.

George W. Johnson
I am writing about my cousin, George W. Johnson, whose memorial you have. Do you happen to have his death record, naming parents? There is some confusion with another related George W. Johnson, and I would like to get his parentage proved out.

Oakview Cemetery
I see you have taken some photos in Oakview Cemetery on Third Ave East in Big Stone Gap. I'm trying to locate a Susan Brandon wife of Rev Thomas J Brandon. If you could take a look next time you visit the cemetery? Well if you ever visit it again. She is one of our stone was as genealogist say. We believe her husband is buried there for sure. No we haven't created a memorial for her as we don't know where she is buried.
