I have been into family history since 1973. I transcribed all cemeteries in town Schleswig, Manitowoc County, WI in 1974. I am currently working on Calumet County, trying to get all cemeteries transcribed. If you have corrections or additions to anything I have on please let me know.
I do not take credit for many of the pictures I post here, they are given to me by fellow researchers who want them shared with family members. If I have any pictures of your family members, you are welcome to use them. Hint: click on the picture you want, and that will bring up a larger file, and then save it.
I've added a new virtual cemetery -- Cemetery X. In my research I am finding obits for people who have some connections in Calumet County, but I don't know where they are buried.
If you have cemetery stones that need cleaning or repair work on old cemetery stones, Shane Peik, has a Chilton, Wisconsin based service.
In particular for Jacob Kessel, 1857-1889, but true for multiple members of our family.
Agreed that the original WI Birth Index record states birth location = St. Croix, however the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center confirms that this is a known error in the original data and the County should be Sheboygan County.
I note that I now have two WI Birth Index records (via Ancestry), for Jacob Kessel, Reel # 271, Record # 343, One obtained quite a while ago reports St. Croix, the one I obtained tonight reports Sheboygan. Apparently Ancestry is correcting the database.
Edit request You sent me an edit request earlier this week. I wanted to add the obituary to the memorial today and noticed that you already added it thru the flowers. Since you have already added it, I am going to disregard the edit request. If you prefer me to add it in the bio section, please let me know and remove it from the flower section. Thanks for sending the obit... the more information the better!
Lodes family I am interested in locating the graves of the family of Anton Lodes. #50663170 seems to be old enough to be part of that group that emigrated from Austria. I too am a Lodes and although I live in New Jersey I was born in Italy. My grandfathers name was Antonio and his father before him was named :Anton as was his father before him for generations. There is a loss of 20 years in my family history probably due successive wars in Europe. I am trying to ascertain the birthplace of this particular Lodes and if he came to the USA with any brothers or sisters. For now I can just live with seeing the family burial site. Currently I am in Appleton on business and will be here until April. Could you direct me to the gravesite? I would like to drive there this Saturday. Many thanks. Claudio lodes at 516-841-9561 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Mem. # 113049448 On the above mentioned memorial or Joseph Multer, you added a photo of a man sitting in a chair with a woman standing beside with her hand on his shoulder. I'm assuming the man is Joseph Multer. Is the woman his wife or possibly his mother? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Donna Ekberg- Reiman
