I am Bob, living at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Gulfport, Mississippi. I only use my electric bicycle and public transportation. I retired from the United States Navy on Friday May 13, 1977. I have always thought of Friday the 13th as my lucky day, and it still is. I am 76 years old.|
I grant permission to use my photographs in all respectful means.
I add interments when I find them, if they are from your family, I want to transfer them to you because you have more information than I do.
If you are maintaining a section of military information elsewhere, I want you to maintain the memorial sites that I posted too. Again you have more info than I do.
I am also happy to say that I have photographed every grave site at the US Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery (up through October 2010) and the Battleground National Cemetery both in Washington, D.C.I have also Posted every grave site at St. Elizabeth's Hospital (West Campus).
I have also photographed the headstones at the Kanchanaburi War Memorial Cemetery Thailand (the POW Cemetery from the Thai Burma Railroad, Bridge on the River Kwai fame).
I have photographed all of the headstones at Chungkai War Cemetery, another POW cemetery from the Thai Burma Railroad, Bridge on the River Kwai fame, also.
In December 2012, I just completed photographing all of the headstones at Labuan War Cemetery, Malaysia; except for Section R where I missed some.
I photographed all of the headstones at Clark Cemetery, Philippines and have posted them, through December 2014.
One day I will be honored by my name being included on the Fallen Find-A-Grave Contributors Memorial.
I am also a War Graves contributor.

|Susan Hoechner||Thank you for your work|
Thanks to your work on photographing grave sites, we have found my deceased brothers grave and head stone. I was 9 months old when he died while my dad was serving in the Philippines.

Many thanks for this photograph. Have been researching Thomas for some years, with gaps, and now I have, thanks to you, a photograph of the gravestone of one of the two uncles I never met as they died in the Second World War before I was born.

Oh my goodness! What a fabulous contribution you have made to Find-A-Grave. Very impressive!
I have been having trouble fulfilling outstanding photo requests for the cemetery. Perhaps you can help?
First, is there any way we can make your contribution public (like on the cemetery information page)? There is certainly no guarantee that people will look at it, but the fact that you have documented the whole cemetery up until the time that you left the area is significant for people to know if they take the time to look for it.
Second, I learned, kind of by accident, that Arlington National Cemetery is the administrator for this cemetery. There are no online records, so anyone who thinks that they may have relatives buried here has to call Arlington for confirmation. Unfortunately, I also think that people are being giving misinformation - or perhaps it is just my confusion - there is a database in Ancestry for the digitized plat books for the US Soldiers' Home, but it states Arlington, VA as the location - not DC, perhaps just because it is administered by Arlington National Cemetery?
I called Arlington today to confirm 25 photo requests for US Soldiers' Home and got burial sites for 5. I hate to contact people - especially if they are getting information from plat book images on Ancestry telling them that I have no confirmation of the grave.
Knowing that you have documented every headstone - up to a certain date is SO helpful.
If you have any other suggestions for navigating the cemetery it would be wonderful.
Thanks so much for all your work. Find-A-Grave success is based on a strong community and collaboration. I will try and take care of Soldiers' Home in the spirit of the care that you have already poured into it.

Did you used to walk the cemetery and contribute photos?
I thought I recognized your member name on the photo of the cemetery.
Bob, would you please remove the photo you posted for David Gregory Lane. I was given one that is a bit sharper and the dates more clear.
Thank you for having posted the first one
memorial # 69214250
|Bobbie Mabry Graue||Audie Armstrong ~ coalville|
Yes, that date is incorrect on her death, but this memorial is a duplicate which you need to remove. Please remove it and you can see she already has a memorial done by someone else.
|Bobbie Mabry Graue||William Austin Robinson|
Bob, this is a duplicate. It is listed as Wm Robinson. Please remove.
