Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Columbiana County in Northeastern Ohio. Since I started my family history research, I have been amazed at the unknown family members I have found so close to my home. I want to honor them by adding them to this site. Thank you to all who place flowers on their memorials. I am a member of the Columbiana County and Mahoning County Chapters of the Ohio Genealogical Society.

Researching: Felger, Naughton, Stanyard, Miller, Bailey, Lind, Lynn/Linn, Sherry, Cranston, Forney, Stallsmith, Huch, Hull, Hauptmann, VanFossan/VanFossen, Stump, Strasser, Thoman, Summer(s), Baker, Hartje, & Rukenbrod (to name a few).

NOTE: I have been working closely with my cousin, Joseph Chaplow, and some of my entries are his family. Preference on transfers will go to him.

PLEASE, if you are going to require documentation for edit changes, provide a means of contact on your profile other than a public message or SAC. I can't post a death certificate or obituary to them. Common sense?

PLEASE DO NOT USE MY PERSONAL PHOTOS. Any other use or republishing of them is not permitted. If you have an interest in someone, please email me. However, you may copy any headstone picture I've added for your own family tree use. The exception would be using my photos when creating a duplicated FindaGrave memorial. A notation that I was the photographer would be appreciated, if only to assist others who may want to contact me about family. I've received a lot of help in obtaining family headstone pictures from other researchers and want to pay it forward. Thank you.

Please check the cemetery before you make an entry to avoid duplications. I welcome any corrections to information I have entered. I try to be as accurate as possible, but sometimes receive conflicting information. Please don't be surprised, shocked, or outraged by an error. I'm human. PLEASE use the suggest a correction tab on the individual memorial. Changes won't be made from messages posted on this page. I cannot add children as links if I don't know where they are buried. Amazingly, I've been asked to do this.

I usually transfer out-of-guidelines unless it's someone in my family or the requester does not transfer their own entries in that manner. I have been asked to transfer memorials to contributors who are not closely related only to read in their bios that they strictly adhere to the transfer guidelines. I will only transfer my family members according to the guidelines. I will not do mass transfers of a surname. Please remember...just because you are related to someone doesn't mean someone else isn't. Please see F-A-G guidelines regarding transfers. *"The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." It is not necessary to request a transfer in order to add information or links to family. I can do that.

I ask you to remember that the members of this site are volunteers, both for entries and photo requests. They spend time and money to do this out of a love of the past, to memorialize those who have gone before, and in remembrance of beloved family members. It requires cooperation and teamwork. If you don't like to do these things, I respectfully ask that you choose another hobby.

"Genealogy, begins as an interest, becomes a hobby, continues as an avocation and in the last stages, is an incurable disease."

I found this on the profile of another contributor: A fellow by the name of Banksey is credited with a quote. What he said goes something like this: You die twice. Once when you stop breathing... and a second time... later on... when your name is said for the last time.

***Please remember this precious child and his family: Camden Fairchild.***

***Please remember this young man, a Fallen Graver, who loved what he did and helped many people: Coady Hatlen. He is missed.***

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

"Do not stand on my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave & cry;
I am not there, I did not die."
~Mary Frye

Scatter me not to the restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times
The family ties are shared.
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who came to see.
A simple lasting proof that says
I loved and you loved me.

Dale Litwiler
I fixed the mistake I made, For some reason I was looking at his brother Edward mistaking him for his father. Edward Jr died in1954 and Dale was born in 1957. So it's corrected sorry about that.

Find A Grave # 70687191
Their suggestion:
I find that my edit request was denied. I believe Dale is the grandson of Alta Litwiler, not his son. His Ohio birth record lists his mother's maiden name as Collins. His mother would be Betty Louise Collins, wife of Edward Litwiler, who is Alta's son. What does your records show to contradict this?

Thank you,
Debra Felger

RE: Donald Graff and Donald F. Graff
It does seem likely, I will do a little more research tomorrow to see what I can find, and will most likely make the connection then. Am going through my database and trying to connect makes me feel good to connect people who seem alike, but I could not tell for sure before. I have over 56,000 in my database, so help is will take me years to get through them all!

Donald Graff and Donald F. Graff
Debra - I checked my records and do have a Donald Graff who died before 9/11/2006 who is the son of Charles Arthur Graff and Clarissa Ethel Hill, and I also have a Donald F. Graff (the one you sent me the correction on - born 1916 and died 1997 and buried in Beaver Center Cemetery) - I just don't know that they are the one and the same person. Was wondering what brought you to the parentage? Would love to connect the two in my files into one, but was just curious as I have not yet located how to prove they are the one and the same.

RE: Katherine Rummell
No, I don't know what the source for the 1819 date, although the tree cites probate records, censuses, etc. for the various family members, so it appears some research and care was taken.

The fact that her birth year is much older than 1830 in many of the censuses still makes me wonder if the Katherine in question is their daughter. I agree it makes the most sense though, as she never married and would logically be buried with her family. It is for that reason I will link her to them. Perhaps the date discrepancies in the censuses and headstones is merely the vanity of an aging spinster. I suspect we will never know.

RE: George Rummell
It appears that the date may have been taken from a probate record but I will change the date to 1820 and make a note of the other date.

Katherine Rummell
Regarding your request to link Katherine to Henry Rummell and his wife Mary Stump: All the family trees I have seen list their daughter Catherine as having been born in 1819. Aside from being buried with them, what makes you feel this Katherine (b 1830) is their daughter?

George Rummell
Regarding your update request to change his birth year to 1820:
I know that is the date given on the headstone, but all family tree references to his birth that I have seen list the 1821 date I have entered on his memorial. Aside from the headstone (and we all know that headstone dates can be vague at times), do you have any documentation for the 1820 date? I would be happy to change it if you do.

RE: Cora Roose
Michigan, Death Records, 1867-1950 for Cora W Roose, File #004513, 1952, Wexford Co., MI gives death date 26 Feb 1952. I would go with this date rather than the one on the marker.

RE: Harriet Mefort
The middle name is from the “Ohio, Births and Christenings Index, 1774-1973” for Gerald Vanfossan Eells, Sr. All other sources I found for either Sr. or Jr. used the middle initial of “V” only

Hi Debra,

These are my Great, Great Grandparents. I wonder if you know what section or area of Chestnut Grove Cemetery (Ashtabula, OH) they are buried in? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
