Here is what it has in the Pendleton Co. Past and Present book that waS printed in 1991. The Mowery School was deeded by Leonard Mowery in 1904. The school is located on the Glen Sites land in the Greenawalt Gap section of Mill Run District. The school is still standing and is currently being used as a free will Baptist Church. Then it listed some of the teachers and then the Scholars in 1920 and 1922. Information supplied by Glen and Debbie Sites. I don't think they still have church there today. They are also a picture of it in the book.

Sallie Pifer grave, Bethel Cem
Dear Brenda, I see you have posted a photograph of the gravestone of Sallie Anne Pifer in the Bethel Cemetery in Holly Meadows, Tucker County, West Virginia. Sallie was the older sister of my grandmother, Atha Marie Pifer. I searched through the lower section of the Bethel Cemetery in July this year, but was unable to find her gravestone.

Can you tell me the location of her gravestone and what are the names of some of the people who are buried near to her.

Thank you. Sincerely,

Jeffrey Felton

I believe you may want the one up Greenawalt Gap on the Glen Sites land. It is a larger one. if that is it I'll have to get better directions. It is about 2+ miles up greenawalt gap on the left and can be seen from road.

If coming from Petersburg, go 15 miles and turn left on Ridge road. If coming from Franklin , go about 15 miles and turn right on Ridge road. There is an old service station across the road where you turn on Ridge road. Go 1.9 mile on ridge road and you come to a house on right and a lane that goes down to a house on left. On the left where the lane is there is a gate that goes to the field. Go through gate and down to end of field and you will see another little field on the right. the cemetery is in that field. you can't see it from the ridge road.

Thanks for adding a photo to her memorial last week. Would you mind also adding the same photo to her husband's memorial? He is also listed on the stone. Memorial #147312287.

Thank You!

Eli Hornick's Tombstone
Hello Brenda,

I am preparing a biology of Eli Hornick for the West Virginia Archive and History Veterans Memorial website. May I have your permission to use the photo of his tombstone which you placed on his memorial?

Thank you.

The picture you have for Elizabeth in Bethel Cemetery doesn't match the dates.

George W Ripple stone
Hello, I am updating a family history, Berkebile Families in America, 6th edition, of which George W Ripple and family are members. Could I have your permission to use your photo of their stones in the new book? You would of course be given credit for the photo.
