We believe our ancestors want to be found, as much as we want to find them.|
We have photographs of all the headstones in The Abbey Cemetery, Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland, as well as, a complete copy of the "Register of Internments of The Abbey Cemetery", and are in the process of uploading them all. (July 2011)
We have photographs of all the headstones in the Hickman Cemetery and the Holland Cemetery, Lancster County, Nebraska. We also have been given permission to photograph the complete Internment Register for the Holland Cemetery, and will be uploading all of the above soon. (September 2011) Project completed January 2012.
All photos we posted are yours to have and share! We found many of our relatives on FAG, that we never would have found on other sites, so we want to 'give back' by volunteeing our photos. We hope you find your 'grandpa', too. FAG is an excellent way for people to help people find their relatives.
April 14, 2012: The message from Jeanine will be left up. I have a rather lengthy reply, but invite others to view the 2 memorials in question and comment at will: Herbert Fehr #83536480 and Ferdinand Fehr #83536479. In a nut-shell, the boys died 129 years ago, as infants, and there ARE no biographies loaded.

|MacBean||RE: Rosa Blanchette #7408484|
Sorry it took me so long to return this. Unfortunately, I've always wondered where Blanchette's Cove is, myself. Never have been able to find it on a map. Sorry I can't be of much more help than that. - Ben MacBean

|Ryan-O||RE: Solomon Amidon #79355080|
Thanks for getting back to me. Solomon Amidon is listed in The Amidon Family by Frank Best on PAGE 60 as a son of Smith and Phebe:
His family continues on PAGE 102. Notably it does not list his birth date but it does give his brother Martin V. B. Amidon's date as 1837.
Solomon can be found in the 1850 US Census with his parents in Hartsville, N.Y. and his year of birth is put at 1839. Martin Van Buren Amidon is 2 years older in that record. In the 3 other US census records that come up when searching Solomon his year of birth is listed as 1841 (1855), 1841 (1875) and 1840 (1880.) Source: familysearch.org/search
So it looks like Solomon's gravestone may have the incorrect birth year.
I hope this helps. Happy Holidays.

I'm glad you wrote that second message about her husband's initials. I thought i saw a "J" before the W, so she is not the one I'm looking for.
Thanks for all your infomation; very helpful!

I would like to see the headstone in person, as I cannot read it very well. I the cemetery large and would the headstone be difficult to find? I live about 50 miles north of Verdon. Is there a platt guide posted at the cemetery?

Thank you for the transfer. Didn't catch the message until this morning.
|Ralph Hammond-Green||Virgil O Masters - Transfer|
Thank you for the transfer. I think I've found another of his children.

Sometimes my typing isn't the best. Per the Ohio birth record, Virgil Otto is the son of Washington & Lucinda. I've not found a death record for Lucinda & I live in NC so getting a photo of the burial marker (if any) is dependent on my photo request. This is my brother-in-law's family. I'd be please to have a transfer but certainly not necessary.

You are most welcome.

We went out to London Township Cemetery today and did a paper rubbing of the stone. It is very worn, but I can make out a "D" and five letters to indicate her place of birth in Ohio. I believe it spells Delta. Hope this helps.
