Bio and Links
Bio Photo After discovering Find A Grave, I've become hooked. It's so true: "you can't do just one."

If you have any corrections, links or additions, let me know through the "edit" tab which is on the top right of the memorial page.

Please feel free to use any of my cemetery or headstone photos for whatever purpose.
TRANSFERRING Management: To be fair to all, I follow Find-A-Grave's guidelines.
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

Just use the "edit" tab and let me know how you are related and your FAG contributor number.
RESEARCHING: I am looking for parents and/or siblings of Austin Goodwin Broton [aka Broughton, Brotton, Button] (1856-1946). He's my great grandfather and a bit of a mystery. His mother was a Goodwin, born in Scotland and died in New York about 1870...we think.
Most importantly...have fun!

Benjamin F. Hawes

I just saw your comment of 4/16/14 about Benjamin F. Hawes ( 1828-1916) being a sheriff (also a miner and shopkeeper) in Calvaras County. That would be my great-great Grandfather on my mothers side. I am new at this, but the lineage goes:
Benjamin F.and Mildred E.(Symes) Hawes children (7).
Frank T. Hawes 1860-1926(my great grandfather) and Eva W. Hawes Stealey 1875-1966 were siblings.

Frank T. Hawes married Minnie E. Wheeler 1872-1907 children (2) Zeta M. 1893-1983 ( my grandma).

Zeta M. Hawes married Nolton Ashley 1890-1966 had (2)children Barbara A. Ashley 1918- (my mother). Mom is 96 next month.

I must go up to Calvaras County to see more pics of my ancestors!

Hurlbut family (Sacramento City Cemetery)
Thanks for your various notes on the Hurlbut family. No, I'm not related. Sacramento City Cemetery is, however, a favorite of mine for its wealth of beautiful memorials and stories of the many families/individuals buried there. Anything you want to send my way is appreciated. Happy Trails.

William Hale
Thanks for the bio info about William Hale. Sorry about the delay in posting it. I have been entertaining visiting living relatives that took my time away from the dead :-)

RE: Cora Crabtree
No problem, we don't show Cora as part of our Crabtree family but we are related to Crabtree's from Pike County, Scioto County Ohio. We have around 60 or so Crabtree in our FTM.

You're asking a squirrel who's never thrown anything away! The 01/01/14 requestor is KCMO.
Comcast has completely trashed my email .. no more address book (168 entries), no more personal folders, no more anything. I've talked with 3 "reps" from India ... getting them to understand the problem is a hurdle that I haven't cleared yet.

RE: Stealey
My box is mostly photos of the daughters Ethel, Ida, Lulu. Their is one photo labeled "Thomas", but I don't know if is Jr or Sr. There are some tax receipts, a marriage cert and some letters from the 1890s. There is also a typed page of the family relationships of Mary's family in Tennessee.
And I found the daughter, Lulu, at Cypress Lawn in San Mateo County. Asked for her to be linked.
