Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family history since 1973. Find A Grave is a great resource. Surnames important to me: Harp, Hoagey, Swavely, Krause, Sheafer, Kline, Keeney, Irvin. Most of our family was in Pennsylvania.

Oakland Cemetery has over 15,000 known interments. The Bureau County Genealogical Society has maps and caretaker records for this cemetery. The BCGS has very good information on all the cemeteries in the county.

I enjoy the search and challenge of finding the graves. Photo requests get my highest priority. When I go out to fulfill a photo request, I photograph all the markers in the family plot. The rules I follow; "Photograph the grave/gravesite "in-situ", or as it appears in that moment in time. The purpose is to show the grave as it is, be it dirty, cluttered, broken, or pristine. It is not your job to clean it, clear it, fix it, or decorate it. The graves are not yours to do as you please. Remember, one person's "good deed" just might be another person's vandalism. Go take lots of photos...but do it like an anthropologist and do not disturb the grave site. -AJ" Mar. 10, 2013

When time permits, if a memorial does not exist I create one. I also search for some records to tie the people together and add a bio. I have a backlog of photos to create memorials. Each trip involves multiple cememteries and normally 300 to 500 photos.

If you would like to use my photos, please ask. I have recently experienced some issues with my photos being used inappropriately. I want to share, but I want to know who, what, where, how? the photos will be used. Transfers and edits, please use the EDIT tab.

RE: Error Miles Austin Boardman 1850-1930
Yes, the Miles I am hoping to get a photo for is the son of Adrian and Lavinia. His place of death and burial is a mystery to me. He could have been buried in another State if he went to live with one of his children after Melinda's death. Thank you so much for your help. Carol

Theodore Norton Penney
Thank you so much for posting the photo of the gravesite of Theodore Norton Penney and his wife Etta. I have looked a long time to find him and there he was with his wife! He was killed in Colorado, and I looked in Tiskilwa, but he wasn't listed. Thanks a million!

Error Miles Austin Boardman 1850-1930
First, thank you for your trouble, but the photo of the tombstone for Miles Boardman that you posted is not that of my great great grandfather's younger brother, (Miles Austin Boardman 21 Feb 1850 - 4 Feb 1930). It is possible that it is Miles' grandson or another relative. Would you be able to retract the photo that you posted?
Thank you for trying to help me.

Stammann photos
Thank you very much for the photos of the Stammann markers. I appreciate your time to take them.
I am assuming that there was no marker for a Daroea # 114564482 and that it turn out to be Harold. Am I right in assuming this? I want to be sure so I can have that page corrected and Marjorie and her husband linked. I have a death record for Harold that has his death as 1988 which matches. Someone maybe made a mistake in the cemetery records.

Thank you

#96780769 Nellie Irene Westerling Dierolf
In Dec 2014 you visited the South Pleasant View
Cemetery to get a photo of her headstone and found
that someone else was buried in that space.

I noticed today that it's possible the wrong Lot #
is on her Find A Grave Memorial They have Lot 47 but I think it should be Lot 57. Her husband Julius Dierolf #96780768 Plot SPV Blk 1D (I think is 1D but may be 10...Check to see what you think) Lot 57 Space 5.

If you go back sometime to South Pleasant View Cemetery Please check on Nellie Westerling Dierolf and her husband, in Lot 57.

Thank you so much for all you do to find Headstone
