Bio and Links
Bio Photo My wife and I live about five miles outside Reading, Berks County, Pa. I try to visit most of the cemeteries in Reading and the southwest corner of Berks. I've also wandered into Eastern Lancaster and Lebanon county where some family members are buried. I've had an interest in geneaology since 2002. (probably longer, I just didn't know it yet.) Findagrave has not only peaked my interest in taking cemetery photos, but, also in discovering and walking cemeteries in this area that I never knew were there. Not only have I documented many of my ancestors, I have been taking as many photos as possible in the hopes of helping others find theirs. If you are a family member, I will gladly transfer your ancestor's memorial to you.
Future generations will want to know what happened to their ancestors, and Findagrave is the best way to document them.

Whose grave are you going to find today?

(Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers:

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Please include your member number for a transfer.
I will always make corrections and add links when asked. Thanks!!

RE: Lance Families
Thank you for the memorials and photos for George and Viola Fries Lance, and the link to their son Clayton. That's great! He's actually George F. Lance III--grandson to the George F. and Clara Collins Lance I wrote you about. I'm still hopeful for Joel and Anna Fritts Vance. I wish Charles Evans burial register was online. I'm finding so many people who are supposedly interred there but do not have memorials. Thanks for all your help. Marina Yeager, wife of great-grandnephew to Edward Yeager (Mayor from 1902-1904)

Lance Families
Hello. I'm interested in several Lance family members who are assumed interred at Charles Evans Cemetery.

Parents:
Joel Clark Lance 1811-1888
Anna Fritts Lance 1812-

Sons:
George F. Lance 1843-1908
Clara Collins Lance 1848-1931 (his wife)

Another son who died at Reading may also be at Charles Evans Cemetery but I do not know that for a fact. His death certificate only says Geigertown, PA.

Joel C. Lance Jr. 1847-1915

Whatever help you can be is very much appreciated.

RE: Sarah Jane Mengel
Regarding my previous post, I've found the proper memorial. Her Pennsylvania death certificate lists death at 1:00 a.m., November 5, 1927. I do not have a copy of the obituary. I realize the headstone cannot be corrected, but thought the actual certificate date may be helpful to some. Kind regards.

Greetings:

With regard to the above, I believe your response may have been to a message I sent via the "edit" option. Would you mind providing a F.A.G. memorial number to which I can refer? Thank you.

Thank You
Hi Tricker. I just wanted to say thank you for all the memorials you've posted on Find a Grave. Countless numbers of the memorials are ancestors of mine in Berks County. I've gained a lot of valuable information. Thanks again!
