Bio and Links
Bio Photo Family history exploration for me begins with Ottawa Co, Kansas, but of course led across the country. An inheritor of several generations of newspaper clippings, I started transcribing obits from microfilm beginning at the 1879 start of the paper and realized the value of reading them all in understanding my family's history in the region. A sort of 'community-based genealogy' habit grew and expanded, as did an interest in cemetery preservation and recording.

Living now in a rural Kentucky county, our local history goal is to locate the old family cemeteries up in the hills, photograph and record. Most are hidden and overgrown; some remarkably well looked after by landowners whether related or not. And several are out there yet to be found...

Am happy to transfer your relatives and happy to help in the hunt for them.

Hi Kate,

You're very welcome, I'm glad to do it. I always like to ask folks if they want a transfer, some do and some don't. Take care and let me know if I can help you in the future.

If you're like me, I thought it was wrong at first, too. I didn't realize that Russell is a woman. But that indeed is her name.

Kate,

Maybe you can help? Have you ever seen a reading of the New Bethel cemetery in Harrison Co.,WVA .

There appaers to be some size to it on maps, but this site only shows four entries! Doesn't make sense to me! I think I've got some other ties there, but no list to canvas.

can you help? List or on line site with the people lsited.

Thanks

Mark

I've linked the parents for Iza Taylor and Mary Reger, who are buried in Friendship Cemetery.

I also added Iza's maiden name.

Hi Kate,

Yes I am very ready for spring to come our way :)

Would you happen to know if this is the cemetery across the road from the truck stop in Jane Lew?
