Bio and Links
Bio Photo Family history exploration for me begins with Ottawa Co, Kansas, but of course led across the country. An inheritor of several generations of newspaper clippings, I started transcribing obits from microfilm beginning at the 1879 start of the paper and realized the value of reading them all in understanding my family's history in the region. A sort of 'community-based genealogy' habit grew and expanded, as did an interest in cemetery preservation and recording.

Living now in a rural Kentucky county, our local history goal is to locate the old family cemeteries up in the hills, photograph and record. Most are hidden and overgrown; some remarkably well looked after by landowners whether related or not. And several are out there yet to be found...

Am happy to transfer your relatives and happy to help in the hunt for them.

RE: Jame Clelland Johnson
"Who is the Patriot?"

While Isaac Johnson was most definitely on the side of the Revolution, he was only 13 in 1776. He may have served since the war continued until ~1783.
However I have proof that his father Thomas was an official in Harford County MD during the Revolution, therefore qualifies as a "Revolutionary Patriot" for admission of a descendant to join the SAR.

I definitely need some reference that this Isaac (1763-1826) moved from Maryland to Kentucky. Any ideas?
Thanks
Fuller

Jame Clelland Johnson
Hi,
I am researching the James Clelland Johnson family for a Sons of the American revolution applicant.

Can you provide the newspaper or source for the excellent bio shown in Memorial #12199355?

Thanks

Re: Find A Grave Memorial# 124749658

She's a very distant relative of mine, and I came across her birth record which is different than what is listed here. She actually died on 18 Oct 1896 .

Not Oct. 19, 1898.
It's close, but if this correction could be made, it would make it more accurate.

Best!

Thanks for the message. I have deleted the links. I did not add them originally I am sure, and probably someone submitted a (wrong) correction which I ignored and it went through automatically.

Laura Bain Sharp
Hi Kate,
I don't mean to be a bother but I was wondering if you were ever able to locate a picture of Laura Bain Sharp. We are working on our genealogy and Dad and I are planning a trip to Kansas this Spring or Summer to go look up all our family graves or as many as possible. It would be so fun if I could give my Dad a picture to go with the grave.
Thank you so much for your time
