I am the mother of 2 adult children and grandmother of 3 wonderful grandsons and 1 beautiful granddaughter. I also have four adorable cats that are spoiled rotten!|
When my daughter was growing up, her and I often went for walks through cemeteries, calling to each other from afar to come and look at a tombstone with some unusual marking or scripture. Others thought us odd.
Many of you have known us as Sue and Doug. Unfortunately, I lost Doug to Melanoma Cancer, after a 6 year battle. He passed away on Dec. 20, 2013. Doug was the love of my life. Be sure to take a look at his memorial. Douglas Dean Ward
Doug absolutely loved to search for the headstones of your loved ones. When we lived in the Fulton, MO, area, he was out in a flash to try to help. As he became more ill, we moved to Hannibal, MO, closer to family.
I will keep our public name as "Sue and Doug." Doug contributed so much to FAG, that I want him to always have the credit.
Please hold your loved ones tight, and never let them forget that you love them.

Sue and Doug, I wondered if you would be so kind as to transfer this memorial to me as well. Mary is Catherine Drake's daughter and I would love to have the transfer to add more info and link the family. Otherwise I can send you my updates. Let me know and thank you.

I wanted to give you a special thank you for originally posting Catherine Drake's memorial page and for being so kind in transfering the ownership to me. Thank You!

Hi Sue, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Doug. Is it possible to send the photo of the sign of the Holy Rosary Cemetery sign in Warren County? Thanks so much and you remain in my prayers for all you have both done for this sight.

Sorry, I could only read the free excerpt too. That was where I pulled the name and place of death. I just noticed it also lists her place of birth so I will submit that as an edit too.
On this site, I've mostly been working on SSPP in Boonville (with lots of help from Lettie Kirby), but I am going to try photograph all the stones at Billingsville that are not already done. You've already done a lot of the work out there so I don't think it will be a heavy lift for me to try to get the rest. I've already gone out there and cleaned the unreadable historic stones so I can match those with names.

I noticed the flowers and note you left for Mariah Ryan Flowers. She was the daughter of William C. Ryan and Emeline Smith Ryan of Lauderdale County, Tennessee. Her grandmother was Mariah Norris Ryan/Lunsford. William C. Ryan and my great grandfather, James Allison Lunsford, were half brothers.
I shared a great deal of information on this family with Jane Hanan several years ago before she passed away. I've had no luck finding the burial places of Mariah Jane's parents, William C. and Emeline Ryan, although I feel certain they were buried in Dunklin County.
I would enjoy sharing information with you.
