I'm a retired former Supervisor for the State of New York. I worked for OMRDD and OMH.|
I've been a Magician, a Roadie and promoter, Streaming Radio Disc Jockey, and Advertising Manager.
Now that I'm retired, I fish, research, and enjoy life.
I am the "FIND" in FIND A GRAVE. I roam fields and hills and investigate forgotten cemeteries where ever they may be hiding. I take pictures and transfer the memorial whenever possible. I'm not into data entry and sitting at a computer all day and I won't do that. Ask anyone.
Due to abuse of the use of photographs I have personally taken and then used by others without asking permission, I amend my copyright allowance.
If you see a photograph you would like to use, all you have to do is ask for my permission AND note where the photograph came from when using it in your memorial or family tree. I have taken to marking my photographs so I can prove they were taken by myself.
Find A Grave states:
ONLY post photos for which YOU hold the copyright (meaning photos you took)!!!
The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is given without prior consent of the original submitter.
My change in attitude comes from individuals who insist on claiming pictures I have taken as their own work. I spend my time and money taking these and I gladly share IF those I share with just acknowledge the fact that I made it available for them to use. It is not too much to ask, is it??

Sorry. I had him mixed up with John Brown who married Polly Drake and fought in the War of 1812. After receiving your message I did some more research and realized my error.I could not find any military records for your John Brown.
I have replaced the virtual flower. Thank you. I apologize for the mistake.

I already deleted the photo. I'd really rather have you add the photo and get full credit.
P.S. I appreciate you tending the grave site.
|Dave Francis||RE: Photo of Lucy Johnson's resting place|
Wow, my apologies. I would never steal someone else's photo. I've taken over 10,000 photos and I can't imagine why I'd steal yours, but records don't lie. I must be guilty. Again, apologies. I'll delete the photo and you can add it again.
Interesting, the headstone photo, in my genealogy program, says that I got the photo from FindAGrave.

>We've cared for her grave site for many years and the daffodils planted on each side of her stone were planted by myself. This is not even the oldest picture of that stone we included, but the time stamp along the right side is from my camera. We visit her grave often and I can add a NEW picture to that site to confirm this. Just so you know.
|ncsearch||RE: Checking in|
I joined a couple of the Facebook forums - to stay in touch with many of the former people who were active.,Caboose is the only person that has not joined and I truly miss her stories, Funny you mention flagging - I do the same thing. I finally ordered 144 flags to keep some in my car for the soldier stones I run across when photographing headstones, Got fed up trying to find flags locally.,Sounds like you have a lot going on. Take care,stay in touch.

When we were little we were taught not to talk to strangers, but I'll take my chances and wish you a happy V-Day.

|Stephen Barneby||RE: Tioga Cemetery Catlin|
Thanks very much for taking the time to look for the Catlin Family graves. I suspect that my relatives' graves either had no headstones from the beginning, or that the headstones have since disappeared.
