Your tombstone stands among the rest;
In this field of green.
The name and date are chiseled out
For all the world to see.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist,
You died long before I was born.
Yet we are of one, you and I,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the life you lived
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
Genealogy begins as an interest, becomes a hobby, continues as an avocation and in the last stages, is an incurable disease.
Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.
"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.
But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"

You have two memorials for the same person. The correct spelling of the last name is HANSON, not HENSON. The correct memorial, 73705736, already has a photo of the marker and family connections.
|Ola Mae (Griffin) Trout||Hogan you have posted|
I know u have posted a lot of different people on Find A Grave. I noticed you have put flowers by Hogan graves, would they be your family. I am also researching the Hogan's. My grandmother was a Hogan. Thanks for all you have did. Ola Mae
|Stephen Lee Krou||Unknown burials resolved within 30 days|
When they say "Unknown burials resolved within 30 days" they are referring to recent burials not 100 yrs ago. Ancestry.com purchased Find A Grave and it is a non-issue :)

|ira tilley||Mattie Stafford #82006472|
Hi Melody. I made a mistake hen I gave you the memorial # of Mattie's father. The correct number is 72916385. Sorry about that.
|ira tilley||Mattie Stafford #82006472|
Thank you, Melody, for creating the memorial for Mattie. She was the daughter of Martin Polson (various spellings) Memorial #7291298 and Hannah Stevens, aka Anna Stevens. Mattie was of mix-blood Cherokee and a descendant of Asel Poulson who was born abt. 1735. Would you be so nice as to link her to her father. Thanks...Ira
