I helped co-write state laws to protect our cemeteries here in Texas. |
I've been Honored by the Texas State Senate, Texas State House of Representatives, The Dallas County Historical Commission for my work in preserving and protecting our cemeteries. I served on The State Senate Advisory Committee as well as being an Advisor to a number of cities in my area pertaining to cemeteries within their city limits. I have helped in clean ups and restoring a number of cemeteries. I believe very strongly in cemetery preservation. Cemeteries in most cases are the only history of those that came before us. Like rare books in a library once it's lost it's lost forever.
I served six years on the Duncanville City Council, two years as mayor pro-tem.
I've been working on family genealogy since 1976. I'm the wife of Wallace Richards.

|Raymond Kresha||RE: Francisco Herrera|
Thank your for updating Francisco's memorial. There is more information.
It appears that there were two Francisco Herrera's born on 10 April 1939. I did not notice the second one and much of my ancestry.com work is based on those parents. However, another member claimed the first one, with records to demonstrate that my brother-in-law Francisco was actually the second one. His parents are Antonia Mata and Jose Maria Salinas Herrera. However, Jose Maria died in 1940 of a heart attack while Francisco was an toddler. Antonia married in 1949 to Francisco Quiroz, that being his step-father, as you have noted in the text.
Francisco's daughter, Catherine Ann, and son, James, now live in western Nebraska, not far from their mother, who is living in Mitchell, NE.
The brother Guadalupe and sisters Susanna and Ida belong to the other Francisco. The names of our Francisco's brothers are Jose Plutarco, Jose Clemente and Clemente Garza and sisters are Antonia, Lionor, and Victoria.
I will send more, as it becomes available. I am hoping to get it right as Francisco's death devastated the family and they should be proud of him.

Hello, just found your listing for my brother-in-law, Francisco Herrera. He was born in 1939 and died in the Vietname war in 1966. He is buried in the Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell, NE, Scottsbluff County. The findagrave number is #18288053.
I do not know if they can be merged or what you might suggest.
You are a great contributor and was amazed at how much work you have done. I am just getting started in the Canyon Lake area of TX.

Thank you, for your suggestion. But I'm not going to use Mom's obit on her memorial. I'm not sure yet what I will have in the bio as I'm not ready to work on it. Tomorrow marks the 1 month anniversary of my Mom's passing. I still not over the loss doubt I ever will be...

|storm320||Lee Ann Gibson|
You created a memorial for Lee Ann Gibson (memorial # 99941422) in the Golden Cemetery, Golden, Wood County, Texas. I was wondering if you could tell me if this was created based on cemetery records or otherwise? The birth year on the memorial is correct for a daughter of Jeremiah Calhoun Gibson also buried in the same cemetery.
Can you share any more about Lee Ann than what is shown on your memorial? Anything you have would be helpful to me. Thank you.
