Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy helping with family research. I travel to cemeteries in Colbert, Franklin, Winston, and Walker Counties in Alabama.

I'm working on making some corrections in "B" last names of the Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. When I uploaded my spreadsheet it moved the middle names down a line..so I've been attempting to delete all middle names in the B section. Please bear with me as there is a lot of them.

Thank you!

Alabama UDC, Stonewall Chapter 724
Lottie Spain Cooper
I took the pictures of these graves after a long hike up the long hill.. I think I took these in about 1998. Helen and I and several others went together that day to clean up the cemetery as it had not been done in years.. My understanding is that it is somewhat easier now to get to but not advised till the foliage dies back in the fall. Pernica Jane "Nicie" homesteaded her own land on 5 Dec 1884. The land this cemetery is on was homesteaded by Stoax Shundy Spain, on 1 Dec 1859, the father of Lottie. After his death, right near the end of the War Between the States, Eliza his wife continued to live on the property till her death. Dora, Eliza's grand daughter and her husband Milton Jones continued to live out their lives there . Their daughter Vina and Vina's daughter Helen lived there till their death. I could rattle on about this family for hours. Email me privately if you want to discuss more. AlabamaFamily@hotmail.com.. thanks for messaging me. Peggy

First let me say thank you for the picture you tool of my GG uncles grave and that of his second wife, Vi. Because of you we now know that he is buried at oakwood. However, I had entered him in find a grave many years ago when I was researching my family. He was "burial unknown". His Find A Grave number is 9336974. Now that he is found would you be kind enough to delete your entry as all his family info is on 9336974. Thank you for all your help.

EMILY BLANCHE MOORE
Can't thank you enough for your kindness is taking the time to get a photo of Emmy's grave.

She and her husband William Hitchcock Moore were Devonians and her middle name was Blanche - with an E. She was named after my GGran of Plympton Devon who was her mother's sister.

The Moores were one of those from the West Country who were lured to the Provinces to homestead pre the Great War. It was a culture shock coming from bustling Plymouth, especially for her, so they moved to Saskatoon.

Emily died young, never returning to England and her husband Will remarried and is buried elsewhere.

Sorry to bother you again but I just realized that I have duplicated another of your Bulmer memorials - and also a brother of my grandfather. As you can see I have completed the entire family but wasn't aware that you had done the Saskatoon branches. I would be pleased to receive a transfer of this one also in order to add the considerable detail that I have in mine.
