*** Any nasty or disrepectful comments or emails I receive will not be responded to. This site is primarily dedicated to having a small memorial and helping people find loved ones. It's a genealogy AID. If you're like me you have run into those that have lost site of honoring the lost loved ones and are just on here to "beef up a number." ***|
I have been heavily researching my family history for many years, picking up where my father, cousin and great aunt left off. This site as well as my own genealogy site below has allowed me to "meet" a lot of new relatives and cousins along the way. I can't thank everyone enough for passing down so many stories and information over the generations.
All of the memorials I own here are my family. I'm not sure how the rumor was started that all of the Smith family that resided in Chebanse or Kankakee are related but it's very untrue. Also, If you wish to use any grave photos I have posted for your family tree or your own website feel free. Those out there that claim grave photos they post here are copyrighted and threaten to take legal action have way too much time on their hands. It's not art folks, it's a gravestone photo!
I occasionally take photo's for others as a way to thank those that have been kind enough to have taken them for me.
If you are related, let me know and feel free to register and see more on my family here!
P.S. Not sure why anyone would have time or wish to waste energy but nasty comments left on my personal family tree web site (linked to below) by people that think they are sending it in secret will be reported to the admins. Your IP addresses are saved when you submit them. You and I know who you are!
**I have decided to remove a majority of the photos of the people in my family from this site. If you are wanting copies of the Smith or Rice family photos, please drop me a line or join my personal site.**

|James E Heidlebaugh||Clarence C Sumner|
All of the Sumner family is related to me through both my Gordon family and my Barham family. You can contact me at email@example.com. I would like the info on Clarence and his descendents for m files. Many years ago I wrote a book on the so called Thomas Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, which is actually the Old Gordon Cemetery. Patrick Henry Gordon was my great-great grandfather. He was a brother to John Gordon and is buried a little further down the line from Thomas Lincoln, father of the President. I first wrote about Daniel T Barham in my book. His grave was marked by two pieces of petrified wood. There is now a bronze marker on his grave right next to Thomas Lincoln. It was the six Gordon Boys that arranged for Thomas Lincoln's funeral, made his coffin and carved his originl tombstone. These six Gordon Boys were his paulbearers.
|Mary Schatz||James Brazier|
Andrew - the transfer has been made. Thanks. Mary
|Eric Emfield||Obit of Mary (Severns) Emfield-Dildine-Scott|
Thanks for sharing the obit on Mary. Do you know the source so we can post that as well? I will also post a jpeg of another funeral notice on her on her site.
Are you a relation to her? She is my 3rd great-grandmother.
|familyroots♡||RE: Rice Family|
I just found out that he was my fifth great grandfather so I do not have any real info to share as of yet but I will contact you if I find some stuff. I am connected through one of his daughters.
|Mary E. Warner||Silas Phelps Sr. Lineage|
I was contacted by a distant cousin who is a direct descendant of Silas Phelps Sr #39801742, a memorial which you maintain. Because she knew where Silas' wife Amytis was buried, we began a memorial for Amytis the other day, and have been researching the names of Silas and Amytis children's names and where they are buried. Her special interest is with Silas Phelps Jr.
Perhaps you would transfer the Silas Phelps Jr. memorial to her if she asks.
I would like to look at what you have in your website about the Phelps lineage, so I'm hoping to be admitted ... take a look at what we have already accomplished.
Sorry to hear this nutty guy Joe H. is still around bothering everyone with ancestry ties to Kankakee area. Hey, he has no life and people like him aren't worth your time. You're actually family and he's not so he doesn't have anything compared to the thousands of family items and pictures you have gotten passed down over the years. Keep doing what you're doing and thanks for sharing so much with actual family.
|Betty Frank||Alta Kennel Glasmier|
I have a book containing a note indicating it belonged to Alta at one time. She lived with the George Sponseller family who lived in the Plymouth, Ohio area. I thought she was from the Adams County, PA area and was surprised to see an Ohio birth place. Are her people from PA? If your Alta is the same person as the one to whom I'm referring, there may be more of interest to you. My husband's mother was Dorothy Sponseller and the family has several pictures as well as a report card or two;) Please contact me through my email listed on my contributor's page.
|Rob Srygler||Sovich family photo|
Just wanted to let you know that I found an old family photo of the Sovich family. It's now on their memorial pages, hope you enjoy!
Hi! Photos posted, but the light on the North side of the memorial, plus a worn memorial, did not result in great photos. Unfortunately the hours of this cemetery are 8:30 - 4:30 all year round, so getting a photo at 7:00 PM on a summer evening when the light would result in a better photo is not possible. I took photos with a flash as well, but that did not help.
She is on the same grave marker as Anton and Erech. Anton is on the South side and Erech is on the East side of the memorial. My photos for them are much better. If you would like additional photos for them please post a photo request. Ace

|amys||Eliza & Henry Rogers monument|
Hiya - Today in Columbia Cemetery, I got photos of the monument for Eliza and Henry Rogers (54900800, 54900751). This is one of the really cool monuments that was recently repaired and made the news here. (The back side of this one was damaged.) Anyway, I see that you had already added a photo of the overall large monument to Henry and Eliza's memorials. I have close-ups of the individual plaques on the monument. Would you mind if I add these to the memorials, so that people who are interested in the inscriptions could maybe read them a bit more easily? Thanks, Amy (#47855684)
