I started my genealogy research Feb 2009 in search of the cause, date, and place of death and burial for one of my maternal gr grandfathers, Joseph Robert Leneave. I also wanted to research my father's family. None of his family knew much past my gr grandfather, Franklin E Neagle, Sr. Now, with over 200 names and growing, and a lot of information on everyone else, I still don't have the information I set out to find on Joseph Robert Leneave. But, knowing beforehand where some family members are resting, and with help from other family members I've been able to locate many of my Neagles' resting places in the Richmond, VA area, Newsomes in the Emporia, VA area, and, by pure luck, located my maternal grandmother's adopted mother's grave in Butterwood Cemetery in Dinwiddie, VA. along with other distant relatives in the same cemetery. I was so impressed with the condition of Butterwood that I started taking pictures until I was too tired to take anymore.

I have over 300 photos of stones in Butterwood, and will eventually get them posted. I'm not related to most, but will gladly post any photos from Butterwood that are requested. Other cemetries I have photos from are Oakwood, Mt. Calvary, Holy Cross, and Shockoe Cemeteries in Richmond, VA; Emporia Cemetery in Emporia, VA; Signal Hill in Hanover, VA; and Greenwood Memorial in Goochland, VA.

For me, this research is very rewarding, and I wish to share some of my findings in appreciation for priceless help from others.
