Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am researching the Adams family from Porter, Jefferson County, PA, as well as other families from Jefferson County, including Clark, McCormick, Adams, Skinner, Shiock, Mikula, Kukula.

I have been searching for the burial site of Robert Adams 1753-1810. I have that he died in Westmoreland County, but not sure about that. He was married to Keziah Blair Adams who is buried in Zion Cemetery, Porter, PA. Their son Thomas 1798-1851 is also buried there. If any relatives to this line of the Adams' know where Robert is buried, please leave me a message if you do. He is my brick wall and it would be so great to know where he is buried!! Thanks so much.

Thomas Adams tombstone
i see that you have a picture of the Thomas Adams gravestone. He was my great-great-great grandfather. Where did you find the tombstone. I don't think it is located at the Zion Methodist Church cemetery in Porter, is it?

Robert Adams who died in 1810
My name is Tom Adams. I am also researching the Adams family. Robert, and especially his father Henry, are problematic. One thing to keep in mind is that, at the time of the revolutionary war, Westmoreland County was ALL of southwestern PA. I suspect they lived in what is now Indiana County, just south of Jefferson County. Indiana County was formed in 1803 from part of Westmoreland County; so if that is the case, then Henry died in Westmoreland Counry but Robert died in Indiana County. Another problem is that back then, many people were buried on their farms. I have had no luck doing a cemetary search in Indiana county; next steps would be to go to the historical societies of Indian and Westmoreland counties and see if there are any maps of where they lived.
P.S. - in 1982 the Jefferson County historical society did a book of the history of Jefferson County. The Adams family goes back to 1300ish in Wales. There was a problem of 2 lost generations' I think I solved it. In relation to the Adams presidents, we came from a different son of Henry Adams than the presidents came from. If you would like me to mail or e-mail what I've done, let me know.

RE: Thomas Clark
I sent you a pm. The son linked is incorrect. There is a photo of the headstone that confirms the memorial information.
