I've been interested in genealogy research for many years, actively engaged for the last 10+ years. I am researching my roots, namely, the Bane/Bain/Bayne families of east Tennessee, the Crabtree family of Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky; the Cade family of Tennessee; the Blackburn family of east Tennessee, originally from Ashe County, North Carolina, and the Maynard and Pack families of West Virginia. For the benefit of my children I also do some limited research of my wife's family- the Bards of Fulton County, Pennsylvania, and the Allisons of Gallia County, Ohio.|

|Howard Osburn||RE: James Maynard|
Thank you very much.
I am the organizer of the WC Genealogical & Historical Society some 20 years ago.
I was involved in the setting of his tombstone yesterday. We had 33 persons attending & was a great day.
If you like, I will send a photo of the headstone.

I have believed for some time that James Maynard was buried in this cemetery, but could never find any concrete evidence. Would you please tell me how you decided he was buried here?
|Claudia Bourdon||Thank you!|
Thank you for the nice photo of my distant cousin, Clyde Blasengame's gravestone. I can clearly read the death date as December 11, 1970. Another researcher had his death date as 1959, and I needed to read the gravestone.
Thank you for all of the good work you do,

Thank you so much for taking time out of your schedule to take a photo of my family member! God bless you!

I see that you have posted what looks like an obituary on David's FindaGrave page. Would you please provide the citation for it?
|Sherry Bain||William Bain/Bane, born 1756|
I am interested an any genealogical information, historical records etc. that I can find for a person who I think is my great (several times) grandfather, William Bain/Bane (born in Scotland) , and his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Greer (apparently born in Ireland, 1861. I think that William Bain was the father of James Major Bain (about 1798-1872) who apparently spent some time in Chester Co., TN, and was the father of Robert Bain (1837-1916). Robert was the father of James Wesley Bain (1864-1922) James Wesley Bain was the father of Roy Lovelace Bain (1891-1962), who was my grandfather. My father was James Ladell Bain (1919-2015). I am pretty sure that my great-grandfather, James Wesley Bain, lived most of his life in Mifflin, TN which is somewhere near Jackson, TN. My father told me this a few years ago. My grandfather, Roy Lovelace Bain, died in Kaufman Co., TX where he was a farmer. My father (my immediate family) lived in Rosenberg, TX. I now live in Knoxville, and I am surprised to see that I may have distant cousins living here, and that I have an ancestor, William Bain, who is apparently buried in Blount County. Do you have a document, a family tree, or a GEDCOM that you can share with me about the Bain/Bane sides of our family? If you like, you can contact me directly through my e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for any help you can give me.
You are welcome. I knew he would be very interested.

The parents of John W Crabtree are John Samuel Crabtree 1856-1943 and Mildred Brackett Crabtree 1869-1955. They are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, Roane County, TN. Also, none of those listed as siblings are his siblings.
John is my great-uncle.
