My oldest daughter, Cheri and I started on our family tree several years ago and I want to help others find their families. My family is Patterson, Mulholland, Wright, Wise, Wallace and White's. (Where are you Wright's and Wise's)|
Update March 2005. . found the Mulholland's and Wrights this past year and was thrilled. Thanks to all of you who are interested in genealogy!!!!
Most of my work is of Cross and Crittenden Counties in Arkansas. Feb. 12, 2007 update: I will be helping Paul Isbell on the St. Francis County site.
I would love to hear from you if you found this information helpful. If you need me to look up any information or if you have any correction, please feel free to contact me. Please add your notes, photos and flowers to let others know you visited the site.
I document your loved ones with respect, but if you want one removed or would like me to tranfer memorial ownership to you, in order to add more information, please E-mail me, I will be happy to honor your request. My hope is to connect family with family.

|Stephen Bright||#8876699 - Walter Bright, Parkin, ARK|
This is my Great-Grandfather's gravesite.
His grandson, Charles C. Bright, age 75, of Blountsville, Alabama, is my father and last surviving of his generation, and I am the oldest (56) of the next generation.
Walter was residing in Hialeah, Florida near the time of his death with his oldest son, Sterling Erwin Bright, and Sterling's wife Oakel. He had relocated to South Florida where his oldest son and 3 children had lived since 1953. He was in poor health and apparently entering dementia. One morning he got up, walked out the door and proceeded a short way down the sidewalk when his family noticed him missing and ran out to search for him. Upon finding him down the block, they asked him where he was intending to go. He replied, "I'm going to Arkansas". They asked him how he thought he could actually walk to Arkansas. He more or less told them that he wanted to go to Arkansas by whatever means he could. His reason... "I want to die in Arkansas". They immediately arranged to return him to the place he had lived since c. 1910 and he in fact died a short time after arriving back in Parkin.
He was a farmer, laborer and sharecropper his entire life. He was apparently uneducated, miserably poor and at one time lived on property so remote from the nearest town that family members wanting to visit him would have to let the air out of their tires and drive down railroad tracks on the rims to reach his homestead. My dad, uncle and aunt had meager information on him and could only relate anecdotes and minor details of his life. They were not a very close family and he is described as being quite irascible and ill-tempered by nature. The name "Jack" is a nickname of unknown origin, it is believed that Sterling was his given middle name... it's noteworthy that even this detail is not known for sure to his grandchildren.
He was married twice, to Pearl W. (Willard?) who was deceased by 1930, and to Zola Tatum in the late 1930's- early 40's. His children were Sterling E. Bright (1912-1960, buried in Miami), Willard Walter (d. 1975, resided in Fennville, Michigan) and 2 virtually unknown sons named Brook and Roy who evidently did not live to adulthood, all by his first wife. He fathered a daughter named Fluella by his second wife, who also is unknown to the family. Pearl is said to have been of American Indian descent. Zola was considerably younger than Walter, was remembered as being an extremely hateful and cruel woman, and it is believed that they separated or divorced eventually and her later life is a mystery also.
We are extremely excited to have found this burial place! We solicit any and all info that anyone may have about Walter's life. His parents are unknown to us, except that he was born in Illinois and parents were also born there. He is genealogically confused on some sites with an offspring of a fairly prominent Bright family from Columbus, Ohio who was also born 1881 (January). One census citation in fact lists his birthplace and parents as Ohio... this has been disproven.
I welcome e-mails related to Walter: firstname.lastname@example.org
|Edward Fleener||Lillie Mae Wells|
Brenda, I am Edward Fleener and a fellow findagrave volunteer. One of my friends noted that here mother was listed in findagrave by you and has the wrong information. My friend is Mamie Sue Wells Nobel and her mother is buried in Mark, Mississippi (as is her father Doyle Wells). You have Lillie Mae Wells maiden name listed as "Bang." Her maiden name was
WALLS (it is interesting she married a WELLS so she only had to change one letter in her last name). Doyle Wells and Lille Mae Walls Wells children are: Oneal Wells, Jack Wells, Dorothy Wells, Mamie Sue Wells and Betty Lou Wells(twins), Roy Wells, and Jimmy Wells.
I would very much appreciate you making the corrections for her.
Thanks for your help. Edward Fleener, Horn Lake, Mississippi.
|Pat Jimerson Bell||Infant(s) Patterson|
You have properly listed one Patterson Infant (27 Feb 1905) the baby of Marshall and Ethel Patterson.
You also have a picture of the stone for another Patterson infant - from what shows of the stone,it looks like the date is the same as for the Marshall Patterson baby. I wonder if it too isn't in Plot B.
My grandmother Addie Patterson Jimerson was a sister to Marshall Patterson, hence my interest and connection.
Thank you so much for all you've done on listing these graves. It's so helpful for far-distant folk like me.
Pat Jimerson Bell
I was sent a request that this was a duplicate and since mine has a picture and more info is there any way you could transfer the info and pic from mine to yours before I take mine down?

|Cemetaryhopper||Marion D BASS-name correction|
I appreciate all the info that you have on the BASS line. His mother Nola Grey UNDERWOOD BASS was my great aunt. I do have a correction for you though, his middle name was Damaris. I have found it passed down from his great or 2great grandmother, Damaris Jane and there was at least one down thru the generations, haven't seen it in my generation tho. But of course, I don't know all the distant cousins in my gen. Anyway, thank you so much for your hard work and entering the info on his 1/2 bro and sisters, didn't know too much about them. His brother Royce used to visit with daddy when he came thru town. thank you again.

James Rufus Dugal 19226893
Bennett, Annie Lavender 64693676
Pridgen, Matilda Lavender 64694213
Lavender, Mychal Hicks 64694207
I've just found today Pridgen, Matilda Lavender 64694213 in the same cemetery as her mom Mychal Hicks 64694207 and her sister Bennett, Annie Lavender 64693676, but they are not linked; Iris Meshell did the work with the three women.
However, Brenda, you did work on James Rufus Dugal 19226893, my grandmother's father. He is the son of Lavender, Mychal Hicks 64694207 (Mychal Hicks Dougal / Dugal Lavender)
Could you add a link to his sister Pridgen, Matilda Lavender 64694213, please. Meshell has everything blocked. Thank you.
There was also a Leanne in a census: I can't find her or Willam Samuel Lavender on Find A Grave.
I appreciate the work you and your daughter do. THANK YOU.
