Lately I've been a little obsessed with adding names to the Washburn Street Cemetery in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I've found several ancestors buried there and then I read about the cemetery, I just couldn't help but want to add to it.|
(I'm adding this info based on both Death Certificates and obituaries.)
PS - I sort of hate the fact that Davis and Davies are so interchangeable! It's annoying.
I live in Colorado and I'm very interested in family history. The whole reason I joined here was to find my ancestors. I love going to cemeteries and taking pictures. Many of my contributions are based off the photographs I take at these cemeteries.
Sometimes I have trouble reading the dates in the pictures - if you can help me you can click the Edit tab at the top and send me a message. I want to get it right! I like linking family members and adding any info you may have for me. :D
I'm more than happy to transfer memorials to family members!
The one nearest and dearest to my heart, my daddy, was the reason I joined. You can always stop by and leave flowers. <3
I helped Beth in Colorado to add all the folks in Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City. It took months, wasn't easy, but it was worth it!
My main interest names are:
A note about my photos - any headstone photos that I took, you have my permission to use on Ancestry or even your own family history pages, all I ask is that you note that I(Courtney Birkes) took the photo. Thank you :)

I was sorry to be unable to find Mary's headstone. I took a couple of pictures to show were it should be. Please feel free to delete them after you see them

Courtney, Please check on the Summerhills from Washburn Street Cemetery (Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania). There are apparently more than one Stephen Summerhill. I believe that the wife of Naeomi is Stephen Summerhill born in 1889 (died 1961). I am wondering if the father of Stephen is also Stephen)? I have added photos of a Lloyd Stone with a James Lloyd, Stephen Summerhill and his wife Naomi and Elizabeth and Albert Kerrigan. Thanks, Doug Dudewicz

Thank-you so much for posting Alma Reese Harris memorial to the Washburn St. Cemetery in Scranton. I have been looking for her date of death, and it has eluded me. She was my husband's Great Grandmother. I would like to know if you would transfer her to me, please? Her number at Find A Grave is 14455827, and mine is 47181695. Thank-you very much for adding her name to the site. I've been searching for years and have not found her name on any other lists at that cemetery. I just sent a link to connect her to her mother and father. You are also administrator to her mother, Mary Ann Reese, 134687483. Since you mentioned Davis in your bio, I thought I'd let you know her maiden name was also Davis. Which was on her death certificate. Thank-you for all that you do. We appreciate your hard work!

Hi Courtney, I was able to locate the grave of Mary and Fred Aldrich, however I haven't been able to find a marker for Wilford. I'll keep looking.

Hi! Courtney, I've transferred Fred back to you. Can you please let me know if you are now able to delete his listing? Thanks for your help on this! Ann
