Although an Asheville native, my genealogical bases are Yancey, Mitchell and Iredell Counties. Surnames closely related to me are Vickery, Morrison, Bradshaw, Stevenson, Gibson and Bagwell. |
I will never create a grave for anyone about whom I know nothing; if I do not have any information other than two dates I leave creation of the memorial to someone who hopefully does have it. These people deserve more on their memorials than just dates, no matter how large the cemetery!
Those who transcribe whole cemeteries without even bothering to use dates, just to boost their numbers, should be banned from the site, in my opinion. With the resources of the Internet now available, there is no excuse for such.
However, I am happy to transfer graves of any persons who are not related to me, to anyone who is related to the deceased. That said, please do not abuse this. Thanks.
PLEASE NOTE: We can NOT link parents to children! That is, we have to link children UP to parents, not link parents DOWN to children. It's just the way the site works. Please do not contact me about adding children to the parents' graves. I can't. Instead - contact the creators of the chidren's graves and ask them to link the kids UP to the parents - it is the only way to do this.
Kindly refrain from post death certs on my memorials. Photos are great, however.

|Michael Young||Arthur Bascomb Young|
Hello Mr. Lawson
The paternal grandparents of Arthur Bascomb Young who is buried in the Slagle Cemetery in Mitchell County were Greenberry Young and Elizabeth McKinney and not Wesley Young. Could I please have this info corrected? Thanks for creating the memorial for Arthur and taking pictures of his grave as I did not know the location of it
prior to coming on this site.

How goes the battle on your front Mark?
|Robert Dodd||William Jones|
Sorry Mark, that was confusing I'm sure. I was talking about William Jones Memorial# 55879193. His dad was Emery Jones. The memorial # I left in the other message.

Hey Mark, Could you add Williams dad Memorial # 136210918. I just added the location and photo today. The Sons of the Confederacy just installed his headstone 9/20/2014. He is my 2nd great grandfather. Thanks Robert
|sheilah spencer||Isaac Thomas Crowder|
Do you happen to know where Isaac Thomas Crowder (b abt 1833)(d abt 1918)grave is located? He was married to Julia A McKinney(b abt 1832)(d abt 1873)(m 1847). Father of Marcus Lee Crowder (b 9 Nov 1869), (d 24 Aug 1926). Would appreciate any input. Thanks. Sheilah Spencer
|sheilah spencer||Lockie Ellender Gouge - Crowder|
Pertaining to the mother of Lockie Ellender Gouge - Crowder,since she was my maternal Great Grandmother, it behooves me to correct the name of her mother - it was Esther Lette Winters - Gouge, she was Thomas Clingman Gouge's first wife and they were Lockie's parents. They had married in 1877. Julia Hart was his second wife and not my Great Grandmother's parent. Thought you would want to know. Thanks. Sheilah Spencer
