A Chicago Public School teacher for about 40 years, I retired in 2004 and have been a member of the Theatre of Western Springs since 1978 and have acted in over 20 plays and directed about 12.|
I have only recently begun to research my family history, which includes roots extending through Montgomerys and Pursleys as well as Wises.

This memorial page:
contains an error. Charles Columbus Montgomery was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Eliza Williamson Montgomery. His mother was not Rebecca Pursley Montgomery. Benjamin F Montgomery married first to Eliza Williamson 15 August 1869 at Tyler, West Virginia.
The same physician and minister, William Strickling, also performed the marriage ceremony of Benjamin's brother, William James at the same locality on 16 March 1871 when William wed Mary Doak.
Benjamin Franklin Montgomery married for the second time to Rebecca Pursley 22 May 1872 at Botetourt, Virginia, nearly two years after the birth of Charles Columbus Montgomery.
Thank you for leaving such wonderful tokens for my mom, Mary Evelyn Oliver. It makes my heart smile when I go to her memorial and someone has remembered her.

Sorry you missed it too. We had a lot of fun. Believe me, by the second day we were all graved out, had dinner and some of us went back to the hotel and took a nap before happy hour.
Maybe next time, Nan
