Regarding the new easy edit feature= I WILL NOT change first names to be something different than what the headstone reads as they become unsearchable. So if the headstone reads “Peggy” but you want it to be Margaret, no. It will be declined. ===== When doing searches in southern Wisconsin, please do all kinds of funky ways of searching. Don’t take a memorial on here as being correct either. There is some contributor who lives in another state who has taken control of a 20 county area and their memorials in many cases are way off. He has Eastern European first and last names totally mangled, dates of death 50 years off, women linked to their “spouse” when it is really their husband’s father, men and women’s names switched (like Michael listed as Michelle, Rudy listed as Ruth), people plopped in the wrong cemetery (just because spouse is buried there doesn’t mean they are) and many more errors. In one recent case they saw an obit and found the already deceased spouse on here. The person who posted the spouse says at the top they are guessing the woman is buried there. So guess what, the newly deceased spouse is also plopped into that cemetery. They are not there! Another case the husband was already dead. So they found a man in the same area with the same name and linked them as married and they put her in the same cemetery. Unfortunately this woman is now listed as the spouse of her father-in-law and she is plopped as being buried with him, not her husband. I recently got a box of every single obituary from Rock/Walworth County’s from 1998-2006. In trying to go through these and putting the info on here, I have found just dozens of horribly done memorials by this contributor. And they continue to put erroneous information on here. Much of it is now indexed by Ancesty.com as fact! Just because some contributor has high numbers doesn’t mean the stuff they put on here is true.
=== All requests for transfers must contain your exact relationship to the deceased.
DO NOT send me requests for memorials through my e-mail! Use the edit tab, that is what it is there for.
