I was thrilled to sponsor my 5th great grandparents, Stephen & Rebecca (Richards) Roberts. My Mom kept the family history for years along with a huge book called "The History of Luzerne County." I have continued her work on Ancestry.com. The Line of descent from Stephen to me is: Stephen, Ephraim, Stephen II, Silas, Elmer, Cecil (Cy), and then my dear Mom, Natalie Elizabeth Roberts who married Patrick Philip McDermott. My parents have 9 children. I am the eldest. I was thrilled to see the actual grave of Stephen and Rebecca Roberts. One day I hope to visit the grave site with some of my nieces and nephews (12 in all). I have visited the graves of Silas Roberts, Elmer Wesley Roberts, and his son, Elmer Marvin Roberts, in Peckville, PA, but I have to make my way down to Union Township to see other Roberts relatives.
It is nice to meet someone else who descends from Stephen. Do you live in PA? I am in Parsippany, NJ. I still have to arrange to take photos of the graves of my grandparents, Cecil and Grave (Wilkins) Roberts, and of my parents, all located in the same grave site at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ. Someone at Find-a-Grave kindly offered to take the photos but my Mom's grave marker needs to be re-set before photos can be done. I did find the photo of the grave of my Aunt Eloise (Roberts) May, Cy's sister, thru Find-a-Grave. We now care for her son, Robert, age 82.
Do you know of any living descendants of Stephen Roberts with the ROBERTS name? When my grand uncle Elmer Marvin Roberts died in 2002, there were no more male descendants from Elmer Wesley Roberts, Silas' son. Only Elmer's 2 daughters, Gail and Carol, plus Bob May are still living.
It is wonderful to be in touch with a descendant of Stephen and Rebecca Roberts. I would like to know more about your family line.

I got your message; this is interesting. I would love to see the photo. I have a record from ABSTRACT OF GRAVES OF REVOLUTIONARY PATRIOTS, Vol. 3, p. Serial: 12556; Vol. 7; that has him buried at Shupps. Would you mind adding his photo to his memorial page? Is there a cemetery on F-A-G with the name you mentioned, or does one need to be created? (I could not find one) It would be best if you create the cemetery because you know the location etc and would be able to edit all the necessary information so others can find it. If you don't know how to do this, or would prefer that I add it, I would be happy to do so if you give me the GPS location and or directions to the cemetery. Just let me know.
Before I move him, I would like to see the photo. You can just add it to his memorial page. When I change his burial location, the photo and memorial will move with him. I have sponsored his page, so there will never be any ads on it. He is one of my husbands gg+ grandfathers. So you and my husband are distant cousins.
