Otto E. Kretzschmar
Good Morning Angelina!

I've been wrestling with Otto E. Kretzschmar and his parentage for sometime now. I believe him to be the son of Gustav Emil Kretzschmar and Johanna Bertha Witte. According to the Trinity Lutheran Church Records of Baptisms, Part 2, 1878-1889 - Page and Entry No.: 287-518, Otto Ernst Kretzschmar was born to Gustav Kretzschmar and Bertha Witte, on 27 August 1883, New Ulm, Texas. He was baptized on 27 April 1884, Trinity Lutheran Church, New Ulm, Texas by Pastor F. Gerstmann. Godparents were Adolf Kretzschmar Frl. Louise Eckert.

What do you think? Should he be removed from the Julius Kretzschmar and Elizabeth Ashorn family and added to that of Gustav and Bertha Witte Kretzschmar? I haven't found his death certificate, to determine parentage, but if you have other records that prove him the child of Julius and Elizabeth Kretschmar, would you please send your sources on to me?

Many thanks for all the work you've done on Find-a-Grave, and the untold hours you've dedicated to photographing cemeteries and making them available to those of us who no longer reside in Texas.

Thanks again for all your family history work.

Kindest regards,
~lanell rabner

RE: Corrected Lednicky spelling
Had this been anyone else besides you, I would have questioned the spelling. I thought it looked strange but trusted you knew what the name was.! OK, so everyone has an off night every so often. Glad you caught the error.
