Names in my family (both direct and collateral) are: Miller, Mago, Merkle, Blake, Forton (Freton), Mink, Roneker, Hill, Bolz, Beaufait, Stotz, Bauer, Greno, Bulled, Adams, Peltier, Batt, Brenzel, Kambat, Desmarais, Veno (Vienneau) and many others in French-Canada.

Magdalene Pfanner Blumstein
Hi Mary,

My name is Chris Scott, and I have been doing geneology research in hopes of finding more about my medical history, and maybe even my family tree.

I saw you posted a picture of a grave for Magdalene Pfanner Blumstein at St. Francis Cemetary in Tonawanda, Erie County.

I believe she and I are related.

Is there anything you can tell me about her? Do you have any relation to her? Do you know if there are graves for any other relatives nearby?

Of course, if you know of any living relatives that would be a great help.

You can contact me any time at 949-294-6038. I am actually in New York City today (Sep. 10), but am leaving tomorrow morning. You can also email me at

Thank you. I look forward to your reply.

Added the photo of the stone and transfered to you for correction. She is buried next to her first husband and I took Brenzel as her maiden name

RE: Irene Kambat
Yes the other Kambat stones were Augusta 1867-1942 & George 1859-1924 on the same headstone Henrietta 1908-1924 and William 1896-1926. They were all together. If you want to list them I'll add the photos.

It was my pleasure. It's a beautiful cemetery close to my home.

RE: Thank you!
You're welcome. Yes! Use them in your records. I took the pictures for you to do what you want with them. The Strahl headstone is the SAME headstone as the Kambat headstone. It says Kambat on one side and Strahl on the other side. Pretty neat, huh?

Mary: I did some additional digging for you, and I just found out from the cemetery personnel that the plot where the Feeney's and the Herd's are buried is also owned by someone named Pelesier. There is no burial there, yet, for a Pelesier, however the lot is owned by all three families. Perhaps this is a lead for you. Cathy
