Bio and Links
Bio Photo I just love genealogy. I got hooked several years ago. I just love walking cemeteries. Many old stones are gorgeous. I just love a good mystery to solve. Many time answers are just awaiting me. I just have to keep my eyes open.

I add other stones that I see in my treks in hope of helping others. If I have added one of your family, I'd be happy to transfer "management" of the memorial to you. Just let me know. Please use the edit tab on the memorial to do so. That way, I can make sure that I am transferring the correct monument. If you notice any errors, please let me know via the edit tab and I will make the corrections. Thanks. Please be patient with me about the edits that are sent automatically. I do try to keep up with them. Sometimes I do forget to check.

I lived in Green Township, a Cincinnati suburb for many years. I walked many of the cemeteries in Hamilton County, Ohio and Campbell & Kenton Counties in Kentucky. I currently live in Whitefish, Montana.
I walk cemeteries in Flathead County now.

RE: Arthur Joseph Amberger
I suppose that could be him. I can make a note that I'm not sure. Catholics tend to turn the names around a lot. The only mention I have found of him is the following.

Batesville Herald: August 23, 1927
Joseph Arthur Amberger, 29 day old twin son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob B. Amberger, died at his home at 6:30 o'clock Sunday evening. Funeral services took place at St. Anthony's church here Tuesday.

I can add that, and if anyone knows anything different they can contact me. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!!!

RE: Ida Amberger
If you would like to transfer her to me, sure. I enjoy doing this. It's fun. Do you know anything about a Joseph Arthur Amberger? He is her son. He was a twin. Services were at St. Anthony's, so he should be buried there. I thought, maybe if you lived in that area, you could check. If not, maybe I can make it down there one day. I don't get to Batesville/Morris much. I guess I could call and maybe that would work. LOL! Family names I am interested in mainly are Borger/Burger, Lingg, Geis, Humig, Volk, and pretty much anything connecting to those names. Most are in Franklin County cemeteries. If you have any pf them, let me know and maybe I can take those over too. I don't know how that works. Can you explain it to me. I am not having much luck with people answering my edits, so they aren't getting done. At least I have been able to add pictures. Thanks for answering so quickly.

RE: Johann Krebs
I was able to make out the year on his monument better and it was actually the Johann Krebs who died in 1876. Sorry for the confusion. Being out in the sun all day can do that to a person. :)

RE: Johann krebs
Don't worry about a request. I'm working through the photos and adding them. His is a couple of pages down in my notes, but I'll get him added soon enough.

New info
I just purchased a CD which has printed pages of 9 volumes of Hamilton County Burial records. It just came today and I am working on St. Clare Convent.

I have visited that cemetery a few times and the date of death is hard to read on the older grave markers. This info will help.

George Ignatius Goodfriend
Married Kate Hauger in 1904. By 1921, they are living apart. She's listed in 1921, '24, '27 and '30 CD's as Mrs Kate Goodfriend. 1930 census shows her divorced with 2 kids and a boarder, William Petri. She winds up marrying him and both buried at Evergreen.

George Jr after 1921, disappears. I'm still looking for him. Strangely this is approx when his father, George Sr, is in Longview.

George Gurfreund 1920 census
The George Gutfreund in the 1920 census is of the right age to be Ignatius' son. He also shows as widowed and that his parents were from France. He was at Longview. Then in 1922 his death record shows dying there of TB. (Other researchers show his death incorrectly as 28 April). He died 28 October. Buried at St. John, St. Bernard, Ohio on 30 October.
I think this is the correct George. (son of Ignatz)

The 1931 date shows just a burial date. No other info? Like you said, there were several George Gutfreund/Goodfriends. Was George reburied or perhaps this is his son?

RE: Stier/Velten at St Stephens
Thank You so much Carol S for taking the photos for me. The father and mother are correct - August and Amelia Faust Stier. Since those markers have the names Belle and Marie they "may" be young children/babies who died young. I noticed an Amelia Stier born 1887- died 1887 so that child may be theirs too as the age falls in with the other known children. I will make mention of it in my family tree for more research. This is my son-in-law's Maternal side of the family. Just curious if you are also related. Thank you also for the extra information!! You are AWESOME!!
Have a great day!
