Bio and Links
Bio Photo We have been researching our family for about 30 years and have traveled to several states for genealogy. Many of our memorials are for "extended" family members, but others are not. We hope someone finds the information we post helpful in their own research.

Except for those photos listed within our *Posted with Permission* virtual cem, every tombstone or cemetery photo we post was taken by us on the date indicated in the photo caption.

-- All contributor-posted photographs are intended for PERSONAL USE, unless stated otherwise. To comply with current Copyright Law, you SHOULD NOT post (and/or republish) any contributor's cemetery or tombstone photos elsewhere without permission.

-- As contributors retain the copyright on ALL photos that they have taken and posted, it is actually NOT acceptable to just indicate you took the photo from Find A Grave (since this site does not own the copyright to any of the contributor-posted photographs).

Regarding our cemetery and tombstone photographs, specifically...

-- We will allow most instances of unaltered OTHER USE, but with the added stipulation that you MUST provide a photo source citation (by referencing both "Find A Grave" [or] AND our profile name AND # in the Description) for any of our photographs taken from this website; for example, "Photo courtesy of Find A Grave Contributor: Law-Miller Roots (#47103448)".

-- Note that you can provide a link back to the Find A Grave memorial, instead of copying (i.e. Ancestry's built-in "weblinks" function can be used for this exact purpose). This option works quite well.

-- Please do not download and then republish any family portraits we post, as these come from private family collections. Some of these photos still enjoy copyright protection and are NOT in the public domain.

NOTE: If we've submitted a memorial that you want to make corrections to, or if you would like a memorial transferred (and we're not also related in some way) let us know via the Edit Tab and we'll take care of it asap.

QUESTIONs: Why does it say "Sampson Ovenden Corp?" He was in the "corp" but that is not part of his name, Sampson Ovenden.

Are we related? Sampson Ovenden was my great-great grandfather. Goes Sampson-Archie Ovenden-Pauline Ovenden Drummond - Virginia Ovenden Emery (my mom was adopted by her grandparents because Pauline died in child birth) - to me Kristin Emery Nama.

Thanks for catching the duplicates. I'm working with my research books, which information was taken from the obituaries I read probably 14 years ago. We can blame the reporters that made the obituaries, because the information I use for the memorials, came directly from the obituary. What ticks me off is they don't even bother to use the wife's name, only the husband's, which can lead to duplicates, as you found out. I sent your transfer over to you, please feel free to ask for as many as you want because I won't be working on my projects after May 2016. Time is my enemy now. I'm working on one final project, the All Saints Cemetery over at Elysburg, Pennsylvania. It's a rather big place with well over 5000 residents and very few photos of the memorial already posted, about 1300, so I'm photographing the entire cemetery and making memorials for those not posted already. So be on the look out for people you may want from there as well. Bob

Thank you for the pictures of John and Elizabeth's gravesites. Do you have any information documenting their marriage or Elizabeth's maiden name? Thank you. Joan Olp

Sylvia Wood 1811
Hi, I'm wondering if during your research you have found who Sylvia Wood born 1811 in Dudley Worcestershire England Married. Sylvia is the daughter of Cornelius Wood and Sarah Guest which seem to be the same lineage that you have been looking at. I have Sylvia married to John Dunn son of Timothy Dunn and Rossana on 13th May 1833 in Tipton Stafford England.
I also found on the 1851 census Sylvia living with her husband John and his parents and also showing another Sarah Woods born in 1790 residing in the same abode which fits with Sarah Wood (nee guest) birth year and could be Sylvias mother.

The problem is I have found other ancestry trees showing that Sylvia married Andrew Homer on 26th December 1831 and attached to the same lineage that I have on my tree I'm at a standstill as I cant seem to get to the bottom this.

I wonder what your thoughts are and have you covered this?

Thanks in advance

RE: Pearman @ Forest Lawn Mem. Park
You're welcome. It's great to have the headstone photos, but I also think it's a nice little treat to be able to see what the surrounding are of a persons gravesite looks like as well. Especially for those that aren't able to get out to the cemetery.
