I've been working on my family tree since 1998 and I love this site. I think all this info should be free. After all it is our history!I'd like to transfer all the memorials that are not in my family so if you would like to manage one please put in a transfer. |
I am a photo volunteer for my area, and I am currently working on Bumpus Cove Cemetery.
Cemeteries I've completed:
Martins Creek Cemetery
Hensley #3 Cemetery
Anderson Chapel Cemetery
Fishery Union Church Cemetery

Sorry Amanda, I don't have any info on John... As i walk around a cemetery and find people who aren't listed on Find a Grave i take a pic and add them... I know he is not related to me and if he is a relative of yours i will gladly transfer him to you...

This is surely a dilemma, I can see. Unfortunately I can't help you at all. I just maintain the memorial for Florence Dunbar Tucker. I have personally not been to either cemetery either. I do see that Florence is the only Tucker in that particular cemetery. However there are Dunbar's in Zion Pres. Cemetery and one is Geneva Dunbar Tipton. Have you checked all these Dunbar's out?

I noted "Amanda" on the Find A Grave page but left the marker spelling. She was the D/O McCade and Jane Conley Moody. Carmichael was her married name, Married William Carmichael 25 July 1880. According to the 1880 Wash Co TN census (June 5, 1880), she and William worked in the Haws' farm household, she a servant and he, a farm hand. Val

Hey there - doing well - hope you are, as well. There are actually two separate "Stockton" cemeteries. The old one, which is "Stockton" in F-A-G as well as in practice. It is physically up on a mountaintop on the north side of Stockton Rd - last burial was Jeff (Thos Jefferson) Stockton in 1945. The other "Stockton" burial ground is Roseville, which is much better kept, and is nearer Stockton Road and further up the Hogskin holler. I have photographed both. I had a guided tour of the old cemetery last week - Thos Jefferson Stockton's great grandson (who I referred to as Uncle Glenn on fB) and is in his latter 80's. Glenn, who I have known for many years, told me a story about Jeff's burial - it was January 1945 and the path is so steep, a mule and sled had to be used to carry Jeff's coffin to its resting place. Glenn said he was afraid the coffin was going to fall off and slide down the hill in the snow. I did have my billy goat boots on to hike up there. It was a great day, and I love these old stories. Clarence is indeed at Roseville.

Hi Amanda - This seems to be a duplicate of the one I added before 52736422.
|Edgar A. Rice||RE: Vicki J. Crum Rice|
I searched Find A Grave for Rice Family Cemetery and could not find it. I went up there today, there were seven graves and five of them were Randolph's dating back to 1927. There was a Rice child three months old buried there in 1937. Charles Rice's son Daniel was buried there in 2009. I have transferred Vicki J. Crum Rice to that Cemetery (Randolph).
Vicki and Lester has a double stone at the Claude Hensley Cemetery. I knew that and that is why I created the memorial in that cemetery. When I saw that she was to be buried in the Rice Family Cemetery I began to doubt if my memory was correct so I drove up to the Claude Hensley Cemetery and sure enough it was there. They probably will move it to the new cemetery.
I don't like to create a new cemetery on Find A Grave unless I am sure it is correct because I have found no way of deleting them once they are there. If Gordon Edwards moves those other seven then I will move Vicki to the Rice Family Cemetery. I intend to go talk to Charles Rice about it as it is on his property. Thanks
Thank you so much for the obituary information on William Strickland. I have included it in the bio section of his memorial (#100662834).
Sorry it has taken so long to upload this information, but we only returned from our trip today.

|Gordon Edwards||RE: Moore Family|
You are certainly welcome - it looks like I may have missed Bobby's - I will double check next time I'm out that way. I have known Claude for quite a few years - hadn't met Tricia & Kim until recently - very nice folks. Claude & I went up to the meadows - he showed me where the old cabins were, etc - we had a great day a few weeks back. I am making huge progress with my Unicoi work. Going to get the list and GPS stuff up on Beth's page here in a little bit. Gordon
