It is so EXCITING--- check out

Some of Highland Cemetery is now online at the library. This is an ongoing project. Look for more updates.

Please do not ask for transfers outside the findagrave guidelines - direct relatives - siblings, parents, grandparents, great grandparents. You have any additional info I will gladly add through the edit system. You did not need a transfer to link memorials ( I can do that) or to add pictures to any memorial.

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Elmer Fowler
Thanks for posting photo of his memorial stone. He is connected to my family via his stepmother Jacova Myers Fowler, Jacova being my great grandmother's sister. There is a great mystery surrounding Elmer as in at least one census he is listed as a nephew and his death certificate says he was born in Kentucky. I believe him to be the son of Charles Sharp Fowler and his first wife Susan. They also had a daughter named Grace. In one of the census that lists Charles and his family there is a son whose name begins with E but it is spelled Elance or something like that. I have been searching for an obit for Elmer because my Great Aunt Cova raised him from a young age. I don't know what happened to his mother, Susan as I have been unable to find a death certificate or divorce record. Charles retained custody of the children after Susan left, died or ? Thank you again.

George Dawes, Wesleyan Cemetery
I tried to delete the memorial for George but am not allowed as it was transferred to me. The original creator evidently would have to delete. (or someone from Findagrave).

One memorial for him shows Sec. I, Range 3, grave 38. The other has Block B-2. Are you certain these two people are the same? I don't know the source for middle name Captoria.

George Dawes, Wesleyan Cemetery
Thank you for the edits. I see there is another memorial for George, 61634342, added by Carol S. on Nov. 2010. Although hers came later, it has most of the information in your edits and also has links to spouse, siblings, etc. Therefore I will delete the 23391619.

You might check with Carol for any other edits. I think her grave location differs from what you sent.

RE: Linden Grove Cemetery
Can you get photo of the lot with some kind of location markers in place to show where they are? Others use flags, standing stars, or like that to indicate the lots.

Mary Wilson
Debbie, I called Floral Hills Memorial and got a location for Mary Wilson. She is in Eternity Mausoleum, Lower A3. It is not my memorial so I had to send edit to the person. I have also requested picture and also of her husband Donald who should be buried with her.

I'm pretty sure it's Nofsinger. Sometimes it's hard to differentiate between an f and an s on a weathered grave marker. Let me know what you think.
