|It's important to make photographs of tombstones since so many are being destroyed by nature or people. That's the reason I'm interested in Find-a-Grave. |
I'm happy to transfer almost any Memorial I've made except my direct ancestors. Don't hesitate to ask.

I am interested in how you learned the details of his move from NC to TN and selling his property. I have been trying to track his movements.
|Melvin Doss||C. Dawson Memorial|
Julie M. I've added the info provided by you about the burial of C. Dawson and this grave being a cenotaph. You have been given credit for the additional information. Thanks!
|Sandra McCorkle||John M. Miller, Mem. #37529795|
My name is Sandra McCorkle and my mother was a Miller. I have read in a Miller family tree where I am a descendent of this John M. Miller & Margaret Hicklin Miller. I have my doubts but in his bio, you mentioned that they had 10 children. Only 5 are listed on this memorial...none that I recognize. Do you know the names of the other children? I have 4 children as Andrew, John, Marquerite & Samuel. It seems to me that people are notorious for not having facts when they list family trees. They should at least leave comments about confirmation. I would appreciate any thing you can help me with.
Thank you. Sandra

Thank you, I have corrected her memorial. A copy of her parents' marriage bond should be on file at the Caswell Courthouse which may clarify the spelling of her mother's name (or not). If you are interested, the CCHA does provide research services. There is a link on my profile page.

Samuel Smith has been in the news :) Someone bought his headstone from a flea market and figured out who he was and returned it. It had been stolen in the early 1980's.
So happy there are still nice people in this world!! :)

Julia, Please note that I have updated her and her husbands bios with what I have. I would like to have someone familure with the area, investigate where her husband is actually buried as she may actually be buried next to him.
