I am a southern Pennsylvania resident and have been doing genealogy for more than 20 years, primarily on my mother's family. Her maiden name was Comer and she was born in Grayson County, VA. My sister, Linda, and her daughter, Shari, help me by taking many of the photos of the grave markers/stones and adding them to this website. They are a tremendous help to me. |
If you would like for me to transfer to you any of your kinfolk that I have entered, please click the "EDIT" tab at the top of the memorial, then click "Suggest a Correction, etc." and, after entering your request, click "SEND". Find-A-Grave will then automatically email me with the memorial number you requested and your contributor number included. It is not necessary for you to type those numbers in if you use the EDIT tab. BTW, I am not too fussy or nitpicky about your relationship to the person you request since it's hard for me to fathom that you would want to manage the memorial of a person who is not related to you. I would like to think that your intentions are good and honest. So, with that said, I would be happy to transfer anyone as long as I am not related to him/her/it also.
Incidentally, please do not send the names of children to be posted to the bio of a memorial. It creates an additional burden that is difficult to keep up with. I will, however, link any family members if I am able to.
Also, most of the memorials I create are from the individual's death certificate. I post only the basic data that I find to include the person's full name, full birth/death dates, where born and where died, the name of the spouse(s) and the cause of death, primarily if it's accidental. I realize the info is not always accurate but at least it's a start. I will not post the death certificate to the memorial since I consider them to be relatively private and personal. There are often words and descriptions on the forms that I'm sure the survivors would not desire to have publicized.
Btw, I have found that the death dates listed on the certificates are generally very accurate and if they're off, it's usually only by a day or two. More often, the grave marker is in error when there is a conflict with the death certificate.

Rich, Thank you for posting my mother's info. In regards to why her death certificate and the grave stone were different she had only been married a few months to a man none of us knew.
I'm her daughter Carolyn. I feel so badly the way all that was done. My name at the time of her death was never Carolyn Hobson it was Tester from Wilm, Delaware. He was not my father like that was stated in her obituary, I had never met him until the day she passed away. So at our families request we keep her name on the gravestone she had most of all life her husband wrote the obit and got it all wrong.I just wanted to clear up why her headstone and death certificate were different and they got that wrong also as well, A autopsy was never performed. I loved my mother deeply and lost her when I was only 19. It good someone pasted this. All of her brothers and sisters have passed away now. Here is her info.Record added: Feb 05, 2011

Thank you kindly for the 'suggested' correction to the birth date of my aunt, Ninetta Williams Fishel. I apparently selected the wrong month when adding the memorial and didn't catch it. I've reconfirmed with death certificate and family notes. Again, thank you for your assistance; it is greatly appreciated! Best of wishes!
I just wanted to say Thank You so much for all your helpful edits, I greatly appreciate your time and effort.
Thank you for the transfer.

Imagine that! I was up that way yesterday at the Register of Deeds in Dobson and took some photos of burials in Boonville.
Have a safe trip!

Thank you for letting me know where she was buried.

Thanks a million for the transfer of the Gambills, I have updated them and corrected Stella's info, she was Dean and Estella granddaughter and Myrtle's daughter.
Again, thanks, I truly appreciate you for all your assistance as I research, locate and put my family together.
You are a jewel...
