Mary Jenkins Arthur Mary Jenkins Arthur was the daughter of Amos Jenkins and Elizabeth Huddleston. John Jenkins was never married to Elizabeth, she was instead, his mother. This information came to me from a Marrs Family descendant who has the Marrs Family Bible.
Mary and John were brother and sister, not father and daughter.
RE: Lillie Mae Peyton Stewart Sorry just now replying. In the military and life has been busy. I would like the obituary very much. I snapped some pictures of her and my grandfathers gravestone when I visited.

Mary Houston Billingsley In reference to New Hope Methodist Cemetery burials, I have John Billingsley married to Poly Hale. My source is the Washington County, Tennessee, Marriage records. Their marriage license reads John Billingsley and Poly Hale, March 6, 1819. Married March 18, 1819. I don't know if John was ever married to a Mary Houston at any time, but it was not March 18, 1819. Do you have a different source?

Matilda Jenkins Holley Hello. First, thank you for all you have done with find a grave. My name is Rodney Holley. I live in Lincoln County, WV in a small place called Alkol. Matilda Holley was my great great grandmother. Her son Walter was my great grandfather. He did not belong to Joseph but took Josephs last name when he and Matilda were married. His real father was a Gwinn. Anyway, my question is about his middle name. We always thought his name was Walter William. I just didn't know where the Washington came from. His name was Walter but he went by "Tucker Holley" his entire life. His birth year is recorded as 1888 but he always said he was born in 1882 and his grandparents kept him hid because his mother had him so young. I don't know if this is true or not. The more I bury myself in genealogy the more I find that a lot of those old family stories just don't jive with written facts. There are a lot of colorful family stories as to why he changed his name to Tucker when he came to Lincoln County in 1909. I found out he got a 16 yr old girl pregnant and that's probably the real reason. I'm sorry to have went on like this I just love this stuff as I'm sure you do. I just wanted to know where you found the "Washington" name. Also Tucker/Walter died in 1971. He's buried at the Isaiah Hill Cemetery at Alkol. Thanks and again I apologize for the novel I've written. Rodney Holley 608 Bulger Rd Alkol WV 25501. 304-524-7803
