I learned about genealogy from my mother. Long before the computer, she wrote letters locating her family. It's been over 30 years since I started filling in our tree. Currently tracing: Blanchard, Lanham, Carson, Carter, Coleman, Ashby, Williams, Taylor, Lindsey, Bough, Allen, Bogusz, Boyd, Grant, Yocom, Batchelor and Wallace trees. I've walked cemeteries in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. I'm a member of the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society, Clay County Genealoigal Society, and Cemetery Committee. Recently became a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and as a newspaper and a portrait photographer, I love taking photos.|
Before posting a Memorial, I research the person as much as I can, which helps fill in some missing information. I try to link family members, which helps tracing other relatives. It's a simple procedure, and really helps in research. If I've posted something wrong, please let me know. I'll correct any mistakes in a timely manner. I will transfer memorials that aren't family. Just ask me!
Census and obituaries can be a good source, however, like anything else they contain errors. I've found errors in names, dates of birth, death, and locations.
As a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, I try to find fellow servicemen, so they can be properly remembered.
(November 5, 2013) My daughter, grandson and I took a trip to Ohio County, Kentucky guided by my Find-A-Grave friend, Helen McKeown. Our goal was to find more family connections, and we did. We visited: Milton Taylor Cemetery, Morton Cemetery, Sunnyside Cemetery, West Providence Cemetery, Centertown Cemetery, Waltons Creek Cemetery, Carson Cemetery and Beulah Cemetery. I saw where my father went to school in Centertown, and lived. (Both are now gone). We found several Revolutionary War connections.

Thank you so much for honoring my father, Steven Kellum, as a Vietnam Veteran. It was truly touching to find that you took the time to do that especially when those vets didn't get the respect they deserved upon returning home from serving. Thank you so much!

First I'd like to thank you for what you have done and are doing.
I was going to add my Grandmother and Grandfather Taber and discovered that you had just added them both at the end of last month.
If you would please transfer the memorial for my grandmother - Laura M. Thomas Taber #119629823 and for my grandfather - Harley A. Taber #119629740 to me I would appreciate it.
And again, thanks very much.

Oh, thank you so much. Hope that you enjoyed your visit to Ohio Co., and spending time with Helen. She is a very nice lady.
I will go through and check them out. I found it quite peaceful at Carson Cemetery.

I copy the link to it and ask for a transfer. The person that had those is no longer active.
It took awhile to get the ones I asked for too.

Yes, I sent emails to find a grave, do you know how to do so and email to send it?

Cliff, Thanks so much. I appreciate the transfers, and what you do. I do the same for graves I come across in cemeteries that I walk. Helping others to find their ancestors and family is what this website is all about. Thanks again, and have a great evening. Sharon

Thanks for letting me know. I just ordered a copy of the obituary for Marion from the Vigo Co. Public library. I was always told that Marion was buried in Jacks Cemetery, but as soon as I confirm from the obituary that he's the right Marion Sullivan, I'll know for sure.
