Bio and Links
Bio Photo My heritage stems mostly from the Ohio/Hardin/Logan/Muhlenberg Co. KY area and the Warrick/Boonville/Newburgh area of IN.

Our family came to the U.S. from England and settled in the areas of Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and North/South Carolina. When the original 21 families came to settle in Ohio County, this brought some of our ancestors from the east.

I am interested in finding family members from my husband's heritage including James/Long/Johnson/Rogers/Crittenden/Templeton/
Wellborn/Penrod/Wood/Harper/Mosby/Matherly/Wand/
Thompson. They are primarily from the Ohio/Logan/Muhlenberg area of KY.

I am interested in finding family members from my Dad's side including Addington/Purdue/Thompson/Work/Swab/Coffee/
Palmer/Cain/Rhoads/Igleheart/Barnard/Nichols/
Pigman/Severs/Kimbley/Williams/Dickerson/Hudson. They settled mainly in Ohio Co. KY and the Warrick Co area of IN.

I am interested in finding family members from my mother's side including Nacke/Richardson/Noe/Wooldridge/Nichols/Martin/
Utterback/Hicks/Lawson/Beadles/McGinnis/Sanders/
Matthews. The Nacke family is from Ehrson Germany along the Rhine River. This ancestry is well documented and fairly complete. The members of the other clans are mainly from Hardin/Grayson/Ohio counties.

I am currently trying to add photos and memorials of family members. I am asking anyone who wants to use my photos to get my permission first please. FYI from Find-A-Grave..."The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is permitted without the prior consent of the original submitter."

Thank you to all the generous folks who have posted memorials, photos, and taken photos for me.

Hello
My name is April, I was about to send a lady named Rhonda a message about a transfer and for some reason read your message. I went to your profile and see that you have Richardson and Noe family. I do believe that my grandmother has some Richardson's from Grayson co., KY too. I know I have Richardson's from Casey Co., Ky. Let me know of some names and I will see if I have them in our tree. Oh Also have Noe on my grandfathers side, that was his mothers maiden name.

Silas Photo
Hey Dianne....thanks for the callback the other day. We had a great visit and made it onto the Ft. Knox properties again to visit gravesites. I made it to Nancy Shelton Pearman's grave for the first time. She's a 3 Great Grandmother that I have recently discovered. She's buried in the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery on the reservation where Abe Lincoln's grandmother, Bathsheba, is buried. Regarding the photo of Silas's footstone, that is definitely Sarah Elizabeth English footstone. Sorry. I think the photo should be removed. The more I think about it, I doubt that Silas is buried in this cemetery. It was I who originally created the Silas memorial out of a possible faulty assumption. Silas died in 1842, some 22 years before wife, so quite possibly he's buried on the farm somewhere, maybe before the cemetery was established. Can't find his dad Robert either, maybe buried together, who knows. Also, although named the English/Miller Cemetery, there are more Millers and Eggens than Englishs, although they're all related. Well, all for now. Happy hunting and God bless.

RE: William Benson Jones
Hi,

Quick question, are you related or working on the family? I'm sorry, I don't remember. I get a lot of requests during the year.
Have a wonderful day,
Rhonda

May Grove.
And by the way, if I have any of your relatives (as long as they're not also mine), I will be glad to transfer them to you.

RE: Mays Grove Cemetery in Hardin Co, KY
Hi.
No not from around there, SW Jefferson Co. KY. There is a Google map link on the Info. page for the cemetery. I took Hwy. 220 from Rineyville, then turned left on Hwy. 920 (Salt River Rd.) Less than 1/2 mile from turn, it's high off the Rd. on the right. There is an "access" road just past the site. When I was there in 2010, it was really overgrown. Since then I understand the Hardin Co. Hist. Soc. has done some work on it. It is on private property. I didn't seek permission and the owner came over after a while to give me some grief. When he found out I knew some things about cem. law, (in this case you pay no taxes on the land if it is maintained, and he wasn't doing that), he was much friendlier. Just in case i would not wear short pants and take a sickle and machete if you have them.

RE: Needham Family Cemetery
Hi Diane,

Thanks for the kind words, but I didn't personally take the photos. They were taken by Gary Kempf, a local genealogist, who graciously allowed me to post them. He took photos of every headstone that he could locate.

Gary has written several articles about the cemetery & the Needham homestead, which you would find invaluable in locating the cemetery. If you email me directly, I can send you the articles.

A few years ago, I was passing though Kentucky on my way home from a business trip. I decided to stop at the cemetery to try to locate the headstones of my 4th G-grandparents, Moses & Sybil Ford. At the time, I didn't realize that the Needham Smith Chapel Cemetery & the Needham Family Cemetery were separate cemeteries, and I went to the wrong one. I was within a mile of the right cemetery, but missed my opportunity.

Oops.

Lots of Smallwoods are buried at Needham Smith Chapel Cemetery, though.

Contact me directly & I'll send you the articles.

I have an idea where, I just am not positive, I have to check the other cemetery. I was hoping he was with his parents. Does not seem to be. Let me see if I can find him.

I don't research this individual - just happen to be going to that cemetery today and got some photos. Links for researching Vernon Co ancestors are on my profile page. Regards, Nancy
