My interest in genealogy began when I was 17 years old, and hasn't let up a bit after 40+ years. |
I am always honored to transfer a memorial to a family member, to give that loved one a lasting memorial which they deserve. If you find a family member among my memorials, please request a transfer FROM THE MEMORIAL PAGE. That makes it so much easier! Be SURE and include your contributor number.
Family is precious... past, present and future. Don't take them for granted!
"A genealogist's work is never done...thank goodness that this work is fun..."
God bless you :)

Thank you so much for all the work you have done to create so many memorials. Without people like you, many of us would not know about our ancestors. I have provided some links for her and will work on her biography. Thanks again

Thank for pointing out the death date discrepancy for Thomas Carr. It's been updated.

The memorial in Greenoak was transfer to me to maintain and help others, while the owner was taking a leave of absent. I normally follow the Rules of Find A Grave for Transfers. I don't normally transfer beyond those rules.

Hi Sonja! Thank you so much for the transfer of Owen H. Pickens's memorial to me to manage! It is so sweet of you and I wanted to let you know how very much I appreciate it and for all that you do for others through this site. His memory will be well-cherished. Warmly, Helen

You might be interested to know that I attended a meeting today with the Lauderdale Co Cemetery Committee concerning work on Casey Cemetery. The committee has set a field day to go to the cemetery on Nov 1, 2013. Wheels are in motion.

I was wrong about the DAR marker It is Levi Casey's wife that they are thinking of dedicating for her service. It is still in the works. There was some conversations about it today at the meeting. Our DAR leader's husband was there and he happens to be renting that property right now so we have obtained permission from him to go onto the property and look it over. It has been said that the cemetery has been vandalized in the past and the property renter said all stones are broken. He also said it is grown up and there are plenty of snakes there so we made a tentative plan to wait until first of Nov. to go. It also was said that there is someone from Texas that contacted the DAR requesting the marker and they are willing to spend a lot of money for restoration of the cemetery. I don't know what extent they are willing to go but there was talk of repairing stones etc. Our DAR registrar said she would call the person in Texas to discuss it. SO I will be involved in this as much as I can be and I will keep you posted.
