Hi,

I'm in southeast Nebraska. If you need something checked-out here, pop me an email & I'll see if I can help you out.

Here are some things I've found useful to know, in no particular order:

I think there is a glitch in the software to upload photos, possibly in the phone app. For reasons I haven't yet determined, occasionally the photos end up rotated 90 degrees on here.

This site doesn't cope well with Czech diacritical marks. So, I've tried to avoid putting them in the searchable fields. I do try to show them either in the notes or the photo captions, however.

Lots of older stones in southeast Nebraska are in Czech or German. If I can give a reasonable translation, you might find it in italics or [brackets] or sometimes just along with the original in the photo caption.

Sometimes the last name on a woman's stone is not the last name she went by when she died.

If I have uploaded a photo of a grave of your relative, I won't wish to claim copyright against you.

If you are in Nebraska (or anywhere in the United States, I think), the longitude of the grave has to be negative. Otherwise, when you click on it, it shows that the grave is somewhere in China. If you see one that I missed, please feel free to let me know or fix it for me.

Thank you Linda for trying to find the headstone for Richard. The mother and father stones probably belong to the Sidles family.
I appreciate you looking, Thanks so much.

RE: Eliza Ring
You're welcome! I also photographed R.C., Civilla, Lula, and Bertha Randolph, as they were all in the family plot.

Welsch children at Newton
The same 2 children with newer gravemarker at Wittemberg also have older, original stones at Newton Union. I earlier posted George's photo & yesterday posted Johanna Rosena (Rosena on the stone) at Newton Union Cemetery.

No worries. Send me whatever you have, corrections or whatever, and I will apply them to the memorial(s).

Thank you again for all that you do to help Find A Grave be such an amazing place, and resource for some many people!

Deb :)

Thank you Linda.

I appreciate the photo of Lavara's grave marker. That was kind of you to take it and post it. :)

Hello Linda T,

You sent me the longitude and latitude for Lavara Beilharz 141160164.

I accepted your edit request.

Do you have a grave photo for her? Or, are you just sending the location information?

Thank you,

Deb

RE: George Christian Benjamin Welsch
Supposedly they were moved from Wittemberg to Newton Union. Since Richard Weston posted both, maybe he has more information. Otherwise I can check the printed list the next chance I get.

Thank you very much for the photo you added to Ben's memorial. Years ago I visited his grave, took a very valuable photo as yours, but lost it somehow.
