RE: Enoch Cantrell
I have Enoch as the third as his father was Enoch Cantrell,Jr., married to Nancy Demsey and Enoch Cantrell, Jr.'s parents (or so I have through date research and other records) Enoch Cantrell, Sr. and Mary UNKNOWN. I have Enoch Cantrell, Sr.'s father as Isaac Thornton Cantrell and Mary Linder. I have Isaac Thornton Cantrell's parents as Joseph C. Cantrell and Catherina Heath. I have Joseph C. Cantrell's parents and Richard L. Cantrell and Dorothy Jones.

Please feel free to go to my tree on for further clarification. I only recently put my tree online and am working diligently to conform to's GS&P. My tree is called "Palmetto Pedigrees" and has 35,000 plus family and collateral lines contained therein. Please let me know if you see any problems? Oh, and do you happen to know the maiden name of the Mary UNKNOWN mention above, who was wife to Enoch Cantrell, Sr.

If your tree is on, I would love to see it and make some connections. If that is okay with you, then please send me the name of your tree.

Thank you for all you do on Find A Grave and with genealogy in general. I see your name everywere and appreciate how hard it is to keep up with everything. I am learning to can so that adds another level to finding more time for genealogy.

Take care,

RE: Isaac White memorial
Thanks for responding to my inquiry. It was just a long shot. However, another person created a memorial for Thomas White, who also lived in Lincoln County, and who is buried in Bond County, so I will wait to see what she may say. I know there are connections between Thomas White, Isaac White (maybe his son) Joseph McReynolds, and John Barber, and by extension through Joseph McReynolds and Sarah Wilson, to James and Eleanor Wilson. Considering James Wilson, nothing would please me more than to prove that he was at Kings Mountain, but I have no evidence. I do know this, he got a land grant dated, curiously enough, November 10, 1780 (date entered)/ October 9, 1783 (date issued), which qualifies him by virtue of North Carolina legislation passed in 1777 to be a Patriot Ancestor. This past January I proved my lineage from him and had a supplemental SAR application approved for him. I also know that he purchased land in Lincoln County from John Wells in February 1780. So, undoubtedly, he was in Lincoln County at the time of the battle. He died in 1789 and Eleanor died in 1809. There is no information one way or another that he was at the battle. If you have any information on the James Wilson who is named, I would be interested. Thanks again for responding.

Isaac White memorial
Hello: I just discovered the Isaac White memorial #158408870 that you created. I believe this is the same Isaac White that I have found in Lincoln County & Rutherford County, North Carolina records. I have been researching the James & Eleanor Wilson family in Lincoln County for several years. According to Eleanor's will she had a daughter Agnes White. Do you have any information about an Agnes Wilson who married a White probably around 1800-1810? Another of Eleanor's daughters, Sarah, married Joseph McReynolds in Rutherford County, NC, in 1803. Joseph's brother, Hugh, married Margaret "Peggy" White, and Thomas White and Joseph McReynolds were bondsmen on other McReynolds's marriages in Rutherford County, NC. Thanks for any information you might have.

You are welcome.

There is also William Metcalf, another brother to Danza and Warren. I do not see a grave for him but it appears he is buried, someplace, in Marion Co., TN. His Rev War record is available on line.

Southern Campaign American Revolution Pension
Pension application of William Metcalf S2820

Have not confirmed if he served at King's Mountain with the others or not.

Thank you for preserving this vital part of our American Heritage.

Johann Nicholas Schrum
Hello Vonnie,

I'm pretty sure that Johann Nicholas Schrum was my 5th great-grandfather. You have him listed as DAR Ancestor A104504. Is there a way to get more information about that?
The DAR website doesn't seem to have that information.
