Bio and Links
Bio Photo This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

Hi Cheryl,

I just posted her obituary to her Find A Grave memorial page and after looking at the headstone picture, I am confused over the maiden name.

Yours Truly,
LeRoy A.

Marguerite (Sadler) Koppes
Thank you for posting the family picture of Jacob and Anna (Rink) Sadler to Marguerite's site. It is wonderful to see. But I see that you have it taken in 1923. I just wanted to point out to you, that it must have been taken sooner than that, as Marguerite died in Dec 1920 and her father, Jacob died Jan 1921.
Thanks again for posting the photograph. :)

Could you please remove your photo from this memorial at St. Pats Cemetery in Epworth. I already added a photo there.

Thank you,
Leo Offerman

John, Mary, Georgina, Francis, and George in Bethel-McGee
You have Mary, Georgiana, and Francis attached to GEORGE as the father. He is NOT their father. As the memorials I put in years before yours clearly indicates JOHN is their father. I have made an editorial change to them and it is pending. In the meantime would appreciate it if you would give John Moore back his children. Also, if any one should contact you regarding them please direct them to the memorials I placed many years ago so they can contact me for family history. It is very confusing having two each for any one looking up family history. Thank you.

RE: Menominee
Thank you. My email address is

Since I wrote you I listened to an old interview with my great Aunt Lottie. She believes he knew he was dying so he left his family so he could be buried in Dutch soil. So seeing that stone might be helpful.

Thank you.

I see you have been to the little church cemetery back in 2007 in Menominee Township, JoDaviess county, Illinois. You took an excellent photo of my great grandmothers stone. If you took stones near there (I'm looking for my great grandfather's) is there any way of seeing those or is their an order to what you take? Thank you for any help you might be able to offer.

John Byrne
I was wondering if you have the father correct for this gentleman. Simon Byrne who married Bridgte Ryan Byrne, had a son John born in 1859 who married a McClain. Is it possible that this is Simon's son instead? Regards
