Hey there fellow findagravers! Please, please forgive me for not yet taking action on your suggestions. I promise I don't ask for this stuff or create it for excuses, big crap actually does keep happening that keeps me from my Find-A-Grave participation. Most recently, about 8 or 9 months ago, I lost my daughter when she was walking on a train track and got hit by the train only because when she went to hop off the tracks her foot got stuck - this has really been the worst of rough times for me. Then, on top of that, I lost my best friend in the world of 25 years within two weeks after I lost my daughter; it was so fast - her stomach was miserable and swelling, she found out she a cancerous tumor in her colon, and then she was gone in a flash. I just feel you all deserve an explanation for my irresponsibility. With that said, I want to make sure that it is clear that I
take my memorials for each very seriously. I actually do the legwork and take time to research all info I can find on a person I am creating a memorial for, even though I have never met most of them. I have even been given full access years ago to national cemetery memorials to make any changes necessary on my own. I have worked tirelessly to try to get a photo of each gravestone to add to their memorial (it literally takes about four hours to take photos of two rows). I'm not one who is about the numbers, who only ever looks for obituaries everyday in order to create memorials - I think that is disrespectful to the deceased and their family because it clearly shows that the creator has more interest in themselves than empathy and compassion for the deceased and their families (I have been a victim of this myself several times, with one being the obit/FAG memorial of my own father). The point I am making in this kind of rant is that I actually do, sincerely welcome the sharing of facts and very much appreciate your sharing/suggestions/info, because that makes the memorials I have created only better towards the respect of the deceased. (BTW, Carys Ann Shields is my sweet baby who passed if you want to check it out, however, I have even neglected her memorial through all of this. Please pray for me my friends).
