Bio Photo Kindly do not place death certificates or newspaper obits in the picture section of any of my memorials!!

Originally from northwestern New Jersey, I have lived in Central Texas since 1970. I'm retired and enjoy my children and grandchildren.

I have been with Find A Grave a few years and have made many friends all over the world and in my home area. What a joy that has been!!

We have a group of FindAGraver's in the Central Texas area that come together once a month for lunch and a gabfest in Waco. All members welcome, so please send an e-mail to Ruth Brown,, to be added to our list for notification of time and place.

Enjoy being able to help others make family connections and any other information I can find for them. My own personal heritage lines: Winter, Randolph, Kostenbader, and Osmun.

My favorite animal pals are BBit and Sugar Baby (cats). My companion, Rascal, also a cat, crossed the Rainbow Bridge at 17 years of age on May 28, 2014. A part of me went with him.

Please feel free to contact me at my e-mail address or "edit" tab on a memorial, instead of posting requests on my member page.

You may use my pictures for other projects, but please give proper credit when doing so.

I prefer to utilize the picture area for markers and photos as originally intended, rather than obits and/or death certificates. Info in the flowering portion of my memorials will be reported to FG Admin for removal. Thank you!!

Waco Area
Oh how I wish I still lived around there. My family has lived in that area for four or five generations depending on the line. If I still lived in Ft. Worth, I'd meet your group for lunch. I am jealous.

Okay. I probably thought I had already done it. I assume you mean, by auto edit, just completing the information under edit. Thanks for letting me know it wasn't done.

Martha (Tomlinson) Nelson
Dee, I found the memorial for her mother right away but it took some time to find Martha's maiden name.

Just when I almost gave up, I found it on a daughter's Social Security claim form, that of Lillie "Dove" (Nelson) Eanes, giving her mother's maiden name as Martha Tomlinson.

I requested that her maiden name be added to Martha's memorial and requested other family links too.

Thanks for your help.

RE: Baylis Griffith
Hi Dee,

Thank you for the additional information. I will look for the death records of the siblings.

It's not what *I* believe or not believe. It's what I am trying to prove, so another lady can join a lineage society. Birth records, marriage records and death records are state issued, and thus are considered "legal documents" although their information, especially when it comes to the marriage and death information, is only as good as the person giving the information. Most times, the reporting person is usually right, but at times, they do not know the information, or are too grief stricken, or too excited at their marriage, to be able to report the information correctly. The death cert, in this case, only reported a father's name, with no mother's name, unless I missed it, so there is no trying to find his parents on a census record, as a couple. One could also argue that families were sometimes missed on census records. I'm just looking for additional evidence to prove the census record correct, since the death cert has the father's name incorrect, and no mother's name.

I will look for siblings' death certs and try to prove the line that way. Please understand that I am not trying to create a controversy. I just want to make the application bullet proof.

Thank you,

RE: Baylis Griffith

I understand what you are saying. I would like to help a lady join DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) through this line, but the DC would be considered the "official record" unless there is something besides a census record, because there could be two different men, with the same name, about the same age, with different parents. They could be first cousins, for example, or two men completely unrelated.

I fully understand what you are saying, but it would be nice to have another record to corroborate the census record, to help prove that it's the same man.

Thank you for listening to me.

Baylis Mclean "Mack" Griffith

I see that you are the owner for the memorial for Baylis Mclean "Mack" Griffith.

His death cert says that his father was George W. Griffith. Where are you getting the names for his parents that you show on his memorial? I'm wondering how correct his death cert is.

Thank you,

Mary Lillie Norman
Thank you for the memorial of Mary Norman (Aunt Lillie), we miss her, she has a Grand Nephew in Abilene named Dan Norman, she is my Great Great Aunt.

I appreciate the invite to the waco group, I guess I should join you. Let me know the next time to meet, I did send email to your organizer.

Thanks again for the memorial.

It is good to be among the living. I knew something was not right when I stopped receiving notices that my requests to add/change had been processed and my list of requests was not getting any larger. Decided to check my email address on profile page. That is when I learned that I had passed away. Find A Grave had changed address to All seems to be normal again. But you ask "what is normal."
