Bio Photo Greetings My Friend,

If you are exploring this website it likely means that you have an interest in your heritage and the lives of your ancestors.

I have a profound respect and appreciation for those who have gone before us and sacrificed much in their efforts to live a good life, leaving a legacy of faith and heritage which we must never forget.

I invite you to share family information. Corrections are certainly welcome. Sources are appreciated. If you have a closer relationship to one of my postings please contact me about a transfer of that memorial.

Family history is my passion, as well as my profession. Information from past research projects and a small obituary collection has been posted for the benefit of descendants seeking more information on their kindred.

Best wishes in your journey.

--Laurie West Hillier

Pine Forest Cemetery
Laurie, Where are you getting the info to build memorials for people in Pine Forest Cemetery in Wilmington, NC? You have also been able to add historical info also. There are more than the 1,500 gaves in the Pine Forest Cemetery that have been entered. Finding the graves is very hard and where you are getting the memorial information may help me to find the markers better. Your help is appreciated. Shelby

Marie Begay
Hello Laurie,

Sorry for the very late reply on your requests. Due to lack of time and so many requests it is hard to complete them all in a timely basis. You sent me the below request for Marie Begay at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO.

Thank you for the information, obituary and family connections for Marie. I have added them to her memorial. I also added a photo of her entombment.

Transfer of Graves
Hi Laurie,
I was thinking that if there are any graves I have made and you would like, please let me know as many of them are more closely related to you than me - I am not saying I don't want them, you just may like to have them that is all.

RE: Castle Gate
Have you visited the Scofield cemetery? Much of that work (the miners) was done by me. Any contribution you can make there is appreciated.
Note as you visit the two cemeterys. Winter Quarters (Scofield) was 1900. Castle Gate was 1924. Much had changed in 24 years, the automobile for instance, Electricity here and there, frankly the frontier was over by the time of Castle Gate disaster. Note also every miner in Scofield cemetery has some commentary on his headstone about " killed in a coal mine explosion". By the time of Castle Gate so many coal mines all over the country had caused disasters this epitaph has almost disappeared.
